Big Ole Flower Purse

Hello!!! Hope you had a great weekend. I did....got a new minivan, went for a few runs, played outside with the kiddos and went to a school carnival. Fun times!

I created this little gift card holder using my Perfect Purse template (Gina K Designs) and some tan leather cardstock (love this stuff!): This time, instead of making the bag really elaborate...I kept it super simple so I could add this fancy flower.

The flower is created from designer paper from Jillibean Soup. I used the blossom die from Spellbinders and cut five layers for the flower and then just scrunched each layer. I cut a flower from another piece of designer paper from Jillibean for the center. Then I cut the leaves. (Sigh! Love this paper!)

Tip: Make your paper go further---the patterned paper I used for the leaves says "Happy Holidays" but I cut the shape so that just the word "happy" shows.

Materials used: Designer paper- Old World Cabbage Soup Paper:brown rice, Grandmas Christmas Soup:Can Tomato Soup (Jillibean Soup); Perfect Purse template (Gina K Designs); brad and eyelets (Making Memories); Blossom cutting dies (Spellbinders); cardstock-tan leather, chocolate kiss (Gina K designs); caramel stamp pad (SU!).

Did you know that Stamp TV turns one this week??? Keep checking Gina's blog for fun stuff all week long and snippets of the new stamps coming next week!!!

Nature Walk and Blog Candy

**The contest is now closed**
Hello! Hope you are finally getting some warmer weather in your neck of the woods. This week has been BEAUTIFUL here so I have not been stamping much...instead I have been running a lot and going for walks and just enjoying playing OUTSIDE with the kids.

I do have this to share...a scrapbook page I finished on Monday. These pictures are of my two youngest by the creek that runs by our house. It usually is dry but since we have had a wet winter...the creek has been FULL and they are LOVIN it:

All products used on this page are by Jillibean Soup.

I have been working on a few publication projects and cards for the upcoming Gina K release so that is why I am mia!

But today...I do have a little something to share with one reader----the new scalloped punch from Stampin' UP! I just found a SU! demo and ordered a 12 by 12 scrapbook and managed to snag TWO punches....so I thought I would share one of them with you. (I used the scallop punch on the layout above....the orange scallop design along the photos.)

Just leave a comment on this post to be entered to win it. Subscribers can enter twice. Random.Cara will select a winner on Wednesday, March 10 at 8 p.m. Central. Good luck!!!

STV Thank You Blog Hop

Tonight several GinaK Designs designers are joining together to host a special Thank You blog hop for our recently retired StampTV Challenge Hostess Team. The four designers we are honoring tonight have provided weekly challenges on STV during December, January, and February. We are so thankful for their hard work and inspiration !
Thank You-

Each participating designer was asked to choose a challenge shared during the past 3 months and make a card to share on their blogs and send that card to the hostess.

I chose to do Carolina's Just Clip It challenge (stvabccb10). The objective: Alter a binder clip and transform it into a holder OR decorate a paper clip and use it in your project to attach a photo or stamped image. You MUST use at least one stamped image and one sentiment.

Since I *think* Carolina's birthday is at the end of the month, I created a little birthday computer greeting with my clip using the computer stamp and sentiment from Tech Talk:

I adhered a few punched stars and added some dimension to the sentiment and one star for fun. This was a great challenge--I have never altered a binder clip before! (Thanks Carolina for making us all think a bit harder with your creative challenges!)

Oh Scrappy Day!

Happy Monday!! Today I wanted to share a scrapbook page I recently created. I started out as a scrapbooker and still complete a few pages here and there but nothing like I did before I started stamping. My New Year's resolution was to start compiling an album of fun memories again.

I have to admit....it was so much fun. The pictures from this page were from when we went to Pennsylvania over Christmas and there was tons of snow. The kids had a blast

All of the paper from this layout is by Jillibean Soup. (You can see the names in the materials list below.)

<-----Here is a detail shot of the title. I punched out the snowflake and then adhered some of the blue polka dotted paper behind the punch. I then used that punched out snowflake on the layout. (Tip: The other two punched snowflakes were punched out from the paper underneath the vertical picture panel so I didn't have to use another sheet of paper!)

This picture also shows the stitching along the blue snowy "hills".

Materials used: Designer paper- Talk Soup: Cup of Yak, Soup Staples: Light Blue Sugar, Alphabet Soup: Vegetable Soup; Lentil Soup: Kosher Salt (Jillibean Soup); Marvy snowflake punch; buttons (Making Memories); twine (Jillibean Soup); sewing machine; letters-White Thickers (American Crafts); Cuttlebug dies-letters (Provocraft).

Now is a great time to stock up on what you need and get some great stamps for free! For all the details on this exciting blog hop event and sale, please check out GinaK's blog!

Here is my Spring-y card:

I used Dream Birds to create this card. The challenge this month is to use at least two of the Spring has Sprung Cardstock Collection. I used four of the colors on this card: creme de menthe, innocent pink, lemon drop and ocean mist!

I entered this into the Moxie Fab Fun with Floss challenge. I LOVE using floss on my cards. I created this heart by placing a chipboard shape on the cardstock and using a piercing tool to poke holes around it. Then, I threaded the floss through the holes. I love the texture this adds!

Materials used: Stamps: Dream Birds (Gina K Designs); Memento tuxedo black ink; cardstock-white, kraft, creme de menthe, innocent pink, lemon drop, ocean mist (Gina K Designs); ribbon; Copic markers; circle punch, tab punch (SU!); rub-on (OneHeartOneMind); adhesive pearls (Recollections); swiss dots embossing folder (Provocraft); Cuttlebug (Provocraft); embroidery floss; sewing machine.

We'd love to have you join in the hop by adding your project's direct link to Gina's blog in the Mister Linky box.
