Unsubscribed?!?!? and MFTeasers

On the postive side---I seem to have "fixed" the problem with my software and am able to add photos from my camera again...woohoo!

On the negative side--I was rather bummed today when I found three people had "unsubscribed" to my blog. Not a huge deal---it happens but usually people say the reason was "subscribing using another service." Today all three reasons were undisclosed. THEN I found out from a reader that my blog was sending out a "403 Error" message today.....HERE IS THE FUNNY PART---I am one of my own unsubscribers! lol! I get my own blog through my email just to see how the full feed comes through and when I got that email today...I hit unsubscribe (because I had no idea what it was and was wary of opening a virus!) Too funny!

I am hoping it is all resolved soon and you get the post as normal today!

Now for some cards--
My Favorite Things will be having their new release cocktail party on Wednesday night from 8-11 p.m. CENTRAL time on Splitcoaststampers. Come join us for fun, MFTeasers and your chance to be My Favorite Guest for April.

Here are two MFTeasers of the newest releases. The first card is made with "Ride 'em Cowgirl" and I used the shaving cream technique to make the backgrounds. I used three colors of reinkers (caramel, cocoa, mustard) to create a Western swirled background.

I used the MFT sketch challenge of the week to create this card. It is a bit darker than the cards I usually make but slopping around with the shaving cream sure was fun! I stamped the sentiment on a piece of twill ribbon.
The fun detail is that I punched two circles from one of the shaving cream backgrounds to create the brads to coordinate. How fun!

Materials used: Stamps-Ride em Cowgirl (My Favorite Things); brillance black stamp pad; Pallette Timber brown ink; Copics; White and chocolate cardstock; build a brad (Stampin Up!); Cuttlebug and mosaic embossing folder; Shaving cream (Gilette); reinkers (caramel, cocoa, mustard) (Stampin' Up!); twill ribbon (SU!); piercing tool; hemp; slit punch (Stampin' Up!); corner punch (SU!); dimensionals (SU!).

And here is a quick card using the new set called "Punch a Bunch." This card only took about fifteen minutes to make. I love the paper---it is from Memory Box which can be found at My Favorite Things as well.

I have opted not to make A LOT of samples with this set because I have a set of stamps which features small flowers coming out on the 10th with Gina K Designs. I do not want to make the same samples for both (just substituting stamps.) However, the rest of the MFT design team will have lots of samples with this set I am sure.

Materials used: Stamps-Punch a bunch (My Favorite Things); olive stamp pad (Stampin' Up!); brown staz on ink; slit punch (SU!); Prismacolor pencils; odorless mineral spirits; Marvy oval scallop punch; hemp; ribbon (May Arts); corner punch (SU!); the Robin's nest embellishments.

IMPORTANT DATES:

My Favorite Things new release cocktail party--Wednesday, March 5 from 9-11 p.m. central time on Splitcoaststampers. Two new sets will be revealed and will be on sale right after the release party. Find out how you can be the next MFT Guest Designer.

Gina K Designs will host their release party on Monday, March 10 from 7-9 p.m. central time on Splitcoaststampers. FIVE new sets will be revealed (including the "FREE when you buy THREE" set! Join us at the party for your chance to win FREE stamps! More details coming.

And yes---this time I do have a new set coming out---details soon how you can win it here!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

That is so weird..When I got my email it did say ERROR forbidden. I need to go check and see if mine fell off. I know how weird that is when when unsubscribes. I had 1 last week and it said subscribing a new way..I know I wondered, what brings people to my blog, and what makes them comment..How weird..Okay I just checked and my whole google mail at 12:57 all say unforbidden something changed..Maybe it was a google glitch.

I GOT THAT 403 ERROR EMAIL!! And it didn't say what Blog it was from so I was totally confused and thought I got kicked out!! I thought to myself - now how does a person get kicked off a stamping blog?? :) I'm glad you're back online and if I was a "forbidden user" I did not unsubscribe I promise! And today, no blackberry service, so technology seems to be failing us. Your shaving cream card is adorable.

Lynn Mercurio said...

I received the same type of Error e-mail...didn't really know WHAT it was about, so I just deleted it, but I also have 4 viewers unsubscribe this weekend...I didn't realize the two were connected. Now what? :) Thanks for letting us know about this.

Ooh I love the fudgy marbled effect from your first card (makes me want to eat caramels). I have to try the shaving cream technique, but I don't have reinkers yet... ;-)

Speaking of subscribing, I am gonna unsubscribe from your blog, just because feedblitz sends updates every night and by then I usually already have visited your blog, plus it sends me the same things several times and I can't access my dashboard with it so if I follow a link, I can't go back and I have to start all over again...
But rest assured that I am still visiting your blog (as my comments will attest ;-)) and my unsubscribing has nothing to do with you! :-)

It may not mean those people don't want to read your blog. I unsubscribed to a blog because I wouldn't get an email about a new post until it had already been there for 1 or 2 days. I always add all the blogs I read to my favorites on my computer. So I usually just check all the blogs I like everyday to see if they have been updated.

Love these teasers!!! Your shaving cream technique looks fantastic! Can't wait for all the new releases this week! :)

Oh my gosh, lol....I deleted those emails!! I figured if it was really from a blog that I subscribe to that I would find out. Well, it's good to know it wasn't spam.

I love that cowgirl card! Great idea to make the faux brads using the punched circles from the background paper you made!! I saw the shaving cream technique in a book I borrowed from the library; and seeing what you created, I might just have to give it a try. Thanks for the inspiration!

Both cards are wonderful. I was going to SPAM your blog but thought it just an error. But, then again even if I SPAM you, i check your blog everyday, anyway. Do you smell a stalker? oh no, not me =) Have a great monday!

Your cowgirl card is darker and different than colors I generally prefer but for some reason I just love it:)! LOL...I'm a brighter is better kinda girl but I'm really diggin' those boots!

Erika Martin - Stampin' Mama said...

I sometimes get those unsubs, too. Usually it's will not disclose. Some people choose "too frequent updates." That always amuses me....don't people WANT fresh reading material? Or the one I got a couple weeks ago was "not enough updates." (and I post about 5 times a week) I guess I can't please everyone. :)

aahhh, FINAlly! I want to see your newest set SO badly! OMgosh, I can't wait for Gina K.'s release! I love your card giving us a sneak peek at MFT's newbie's too! I think I'll take the plunge and make my first MFT order on WEd.! Lord knows, I love the parties! tfs some deets and I can't wait for more fun!
