Happy Monday! We had a fabulous weekend...hanging out and enjoying the outdoors. Yesterday we spent the day at a farm---picking apples and pumpkins. It was so much fun. The kids had a great time and so did I!
Speaking of apples........Today I have a project that features one! I had this idea in my head for a bit and was glad to finally create it: I created this project with Little Yellow Bicycle: Head of the Class patterned paper and a chipboard shape (pencil) from Little Yellow Bicycle. I created the box using my Scor-pal (Easily done by scoring a 6" by 6" paper on 2", 4" measurements and then rotating the paper and scoring at the same increments again. Cut and tape. Might post a quick picture of the cut lines to make it more clear.)
I used Plantin SchoolBook (Cricut Cartridge) to cut the apple design. To give it a bit of dimension, I stitched the blue apple over the red one and then pulled the sides of the blue up. I added an SRM sticker "Thanks" (from Shine Your Light) on the pencil and a bit of Twinery ribbon to tie it to the apple.
I added a handle and some Hershey's kisses to finish off the treat. I am thinking this might be an fun way to present gift cards to the teachers at Christmas :)
Supplies: Patterned paper- Head of the Class: Back to School, Penmanship Blue, Principal Gray, Red Study Hall (Little Yellow Bicycle); chipboard shape (Little Yellow Bicycle); die cutting machine- Cricut Expression, Plantin SchoolBook cartridge; ribbon- the Twinery; sticker- "Thanks" Shine Your Light (SRM Stickers); Scor-Pal.
Thanks for stopping by!

I don't know of any teachers that would not enjoy receiving this! What a wonderful gift, Cammie! So much fun that you lifted the edges of the apple...and yummm....kisses! Great project - have an awesome week :)
What a super cute idea! My son has a wonderful teacher this year, and your project would be perfect for her! Thank you SO much for creating that!
Very Cute! What size paper? Thanks, Pat B
Oh what fun to give this to a teacher!!! Great idea, Carolyn!
You make me wish I was back in the classroom again! What a great project. I'm sure any teacher would love this!
Pat B- Creating the box only takes a 6 by 6 sheet. Since I started out with a 12 by 12 sheet....I scored at the 2", 4" and 6" lines, turned the page and did it again. Then I cut out the 6 by 6 box, cut at each corner and taped. Hope this helps. (If you just start with a 6 by 6, score at 2", 4" turn paper and score again at 2", 4". It should look like a grid of squares.)
This is too cute! Love the basket and the apple. I think it would make really cute Christmas treat baskets too.
How adorable! What a great teacher gift!
