As you might also know, I approached a few companies when I first had this idea to see if they wouldn't mind donating a little something to help with the event---and to help celebrate World Alzheimer's Day....So many companies volunteered (going above and BEYOND!) In fact, only two companies I approached said no. Everyone else wholeheartedly volunteered to send a prize, blog about it, spread the word.....and I am sooo grateful. So---each and every company will be spotlighted on my blog (about one a week) for the next few months so I can let them know how much they are appreciated for their generosity!
You will find out all the details about this GINORMOUS prize and how to win it on Sunday. But, for today---I am spotlighting another company.....you may have heard of them---My Favorite Things.
Kim, the owner of My Favorite Things and a dear friend of mine, laughed today when I told her that I really didn't have to spotlight her and Gina K since I already do a lot of work for them since I am on their design teams. Lol! As if I would forget them (rolling eyes!)
I chose to spotlight My Favorite Things today because Kim is holding a special sale at her store. This excerpt was borrowed from her blog post, which you can read in its entirety here.
"From Wednesday September 17 to Sunday September 21----I am offering a 10% discount on ALL stamps on the site. Use the coupon code Cammie at checkout to receive 10% off all the stamps in your shopping cart. (It won’t discount your other merchandise, just stamps.)
2) I will donate 10% of ALL proceeds (including money spent on other items on the site) to the National Alzheimer’s Association. FYI - The discount applies only to retail orders…"
Doesn't she rock?!?! So, I HAD to do her spotlight today!!! (After all, I never had a coupon code with my name on it!!!! Sigh......Small pleasures!) So, if you were eyeing up any MFT---now is your chance to get it on sale!
Here is my HEART TO HEART spotlight on My Favorite Things. I used one of my favorite sets--Boho Blossoms to create this dimensional card. (Now is a good time to purchase this beautiful set---so you can get a discount!)
I white embossed the outline hearts in the background. I used my Scor-Pal to create a ridge and the folds at the top to add the dimension. I love using the Scor-Pal to help align images....the crease is a nice design element but also allowed me to emboss the hearts in the same place on either side! Here is a photo of the card lying down---you can really see the dimension this way. I created a tucked top fold that makes the card popped up on the top portion---gives it a pretty look! I got this yummy ribbon at Jacksonbelle Embellishments awhile ago---it is one of my favs so I hoard it!!

And here is a look a the way I created the top of this card. The Memory Box designer paper is folded under and attached with Scor-Tape. Super easy and super fun effect!
Materials used: Stamps-Boho Blossoms (My Favorite Things); cardstock-white (Stampin' Up!); Designer paper-Flirt Collection (Memory Box); AC Cardstock-Chestnut (American Crafts); ink-ruby red, bravo burgandy (Stampin' Up!); Gelly Gems-Dazzle Me (Gel-a-tins); ribbon (May Arts); Rub-ons (Stampin' Up!); Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Cuttlebug (Provocraft); horizontal punch (Stampin' Up!); Scor-Pal; Scor-Tape; White embossing powder (SU!); Versamark; heat tool; dimensionals (SU!).
