My @#$%^@ Day

After a full day of travel.... My 2.5 year old daughter woke up in the middle of the night last night (of course!) My husband and I were both exhausted and we played the game for a little while...(you know, the "lie-perfectly-still-so-that-the-other-person-thinks-that-you-are-sound-asleep-and-finally-gets-up-to-get-the-crying-baby" game) I lost--and only because I knew he had to work today so I took pity on him.

Poor Lauren was running a fever and ran a pretty high one for most of the day today.

I was delighted when out of the blue tonight she said "I want qitos (taquitos)"...and since we had none in the house...I piled the two little ones in the car to run to Walmart to pick some up.

On the way there, I hardly even realized that the "Princess Bride" was playing on the DVD.....the car was quiet as they were mesmerized by the "man in black"...when all of the sudden my son shouts, "Take that you son of a ditch!"

Oopsie....I forgot about that line (even though he got it a bit wrong, thank heavens!). I didn't dare tell him OR laugh....just kept on driving along (making a mental note to remove that movie from the car!)

After a long day of laundry and snot--I finally got some stamping time in tonight. Most of what I worked on I cannot show you just yet, but I did do this quick card for the My Favorite Things sketch on Splitcoaststampers.

Materials used: stamps-My Favorite Things (Princess Birthday); ink-black; cardstock-celery, white, basic grey (LilyKate); circle punches (SU!); gemstones (the Paper Studio); fibers; dimensionals (SU!); Copic Markers; Stickles-gold, icicle.

Check out the sketch on SCS in the MFT forum (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/) and play along!

Change of Plans: Gina K's release party will be held this Saturday night from 7-10 p.m. (central time zone). I announced previously that it was going to be on Tuesday night, but the time changed---hope to see you all there!!

I will have a sneak peek posted on Saturday and some blog candy to help kick off this GRAND release---seven NEW sets! Check out Gina's blog for more sneak peeks and giveaways! (http://blog.ginakdesigns.com/)

And just in case I don't post tomorrow...HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Cammie, your post totally cracked me up! Not because your daughter was sick or you had to get up early...(that soooo is not fun) but because of how you described "the game"!! I play that game ALL the time...LOL!!! I usually lose, too... :-)

Your card is so pretty! I love, love, love those fibers and bling!!! And those stamps are so sweet!

Thanks for the heads up on Princess Bride, it's been in heavy rotation for a long time now, don't know how i've been lucky enough to have my sons not quoting it!

Darling card, and I hope Lauren is on the mend. But come on -- you don't need to remove The Princess Bride! It's overall too good and sweet to eliminate from the rotation over one tiny word that really just means female dog. Are you never going to let them watch a dog show on the Animal Planet, either?! It's not as if you had The Big Liebowski playing... (one of our favorites that we caught the other night in the company of our 11 year old. We had to turn off after a few minutes -- I never realized there were so many f–bombs dropped until the kiddo was around!) Tell them when Auntie Carole babysits they can watch whatever they want, eat candy all day, and have ice cream for dinner! :)

Very cute card! Sorry you had such a rough day, but hey, at least you got some stamping in. My DH so totally plays that game too and all too often I give in because I take pity on him too! MEN! Oh and LMBO at the whole Princess Bride thing, I would totally freak if my kid shouted that but be giggling inside for hours :)

Aw, too bad about that one line in Princess Bride - it's the only "PG" one in the whole movie. We love that movie... a family fave.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your kind compliment. I'm looking forward to seeing the new stamp release - thanks for the update on the 'party'!

oh man! Pricess Bride is my fav movie but dont even remember that line being in there. I've had it hidden away till my girls are a bit bigger, and I was just thinking about bringing it out. I might just have to preview it with my Mom eyes and ears on to be sure.
