Barf and Eat Chocolate!

hmmmm....maybe in the reverse order!

Well, today the kiddos headed back to school (all but my little one!)-Woohooo! When I pulled out my son's school bag and opened his lunchbox I found this:

Betcha can't guess what it is---

I will help you out--an apple slice. Ewww....this thing has been festering in this lunch bag for over two weeks.....the smell was enough to gag me--- barfing smileyface

NICE! I am definitely up for the Best Mommy award!

Onto some sweeter things---I got a pleasant email this morning that a bunch of cards I had submitted were accepted for publication. Very few were on this blog, but funny, one was a card I posted just yesterday. So sorry that I had to pull it but I promise to design some more with that Gina K set very soon!

Anyway...onto chocolate, which always makes me feel better! My Favorite Things (http://www.mftstamps.com/) is releasing three new sets on Wednesday night (they are having a release party on Splitcoaststampers in the MFT forum from 9-11 eastern time on Wednesday night with lots of fun and games and your chance to be My Favorite Guest!)

One of the new releases is this set called, "Be Mine." Isn't it cute? The chocolates are stamped and colored with primacolor pencils and gamsol. I added versamark to the chocolates and heated glassy glaze enamel over them to give them some shine and dimension. Yummy!

I used my textile cuttlebug folder for the embossing and Nestability dies for the framing of this image. Hope you likey!

Materials used: Stamps--Be Mine (My Favorite Things); cardstock-red, blush, chocolate, white; ink-black, chocolate; Primacolor pencils; Gamsol; Word window punch (SU!); Cropadile; eyelet (Making Memories); ribbon-Offray; cuttlebug; textiles folder; corner punch (SU!); versamark; glassy glaze (SU!); heat tool; dimensionals.

Don't forget---Random.Cara will draw the winner of the blog candy tomorrow night. Add a comment on the post below to be entered to win!

Nice Lunch box Find....................My Problem is I can't find my son's Lunchbox...........looked for it forever last night to no avail.......I know that I cleaned it out and put it away for safekeeping HA! I suppose if I hadn't cleaned it, something in it may have grown legs and walked it back to me!!

I'm right there with you, friend! I opened up Carter's lunch box yesterday a.m. and hadn't washed out his thermos since, oh, Dec. 20th or so (he eats those little Gerber Graduates ravioli w/o the sauce for lunch at pre-school) -- ewww... stinky!

Love that card and can't wait to see your gorgeous stuff in print again -- just got my copy of Crafts N Things -- what a fantastic spread!!! Can I have your autograph?!

what fun you had in the morning ! be glad it was just an apple slice and not a sandwich with mayo on it ! i had that one time---yuk. lol. try rubbing the lunch bag with a paper towel with a feww drops of vanilla on it and leave in the bag over nite to get ride of the odor.

love the card---it is stunning!

Hahaha! You should have saved that apple piece for when Ben is old enough to do science experiments! You'll find that moldy anything makes a great science experiment for upcoming science fairs! Thanks for sharing your always darling creations and CONGRATULATIONS on being selected AGAIN for publication! Can't wait to see them in print!

You are too funny. I am quite sure that his lunch box was not alone over christmas vaca. Imagine all the other buzz around christmas and we mothers are expected to remember every little thing. I think you should have used the pic for a contest to give away some blog candy. You know whoever guessed what it was. Congrats on the cards getting published.

That apple looks nasty!! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that - yucko!!

And your card is stunning - I'm still on the fence about Nestabilities, but I bet I'll fall off soon!

LOL about the lunchbox! I lost my work one WEEKS ago... but I knew it contained three pieces of fruit so was in two minds about finding it. It turned up today at work and the person who found it had luckily disposed off the fruit. Phew!

As for your card... it's simply gorgeous! Congrats on getting published!

OH my gosh! Carolyn! LOL! You are the kind of person that I would love to be friends with! You crack me up! How many people would post a pic of a rotten apple in their kid's lunch box? I love how your blog is so true to life! No candy-coating! Do you know how many times I've found mysterious food items in my son's lunchbox over the years? :) Thanks for being real. It's nice to know I'm not alone out there!

The lunchbox incident made me laugh because the same thing happened to me after the holidays too, only the thing left in the lunchbag was a thermos container of pasta with tomato sauce. It was so disgusting I had to throw the container away... :-S
