Celebration--Blog Candy!!!

I was slightly bumped off my groove yesterday---had my son at the dentist and found out that he needs to be put under general anesthesia for some dental work. He has major anxiety at the dentist's ever since he got a cap put on his tooth last year and his teeth need a lot of work (has a few cavities and a cracked tooth.)

I am so fastidious about teeth and it just kills me that he has all of these problems (soft teeth.) I feel for the guy and I was really down on myself last night figuring this must be my fault.......but this morning I woke up and I feel so much better. I know that in the scheme of things, this is nothing---it will all be over soon and he will most likely get more cavities but, hey, he is a healthy child and so we are celebrating!

But first, I have a card to show you:

This card is pretty straight-forward---the only thing I did besides stamp and color was to add the flower embossed vellum sheet over the background. I love the look this gave this card. And I think the flowers accent the image so nicely! The prima is colored with Copics to match the pink in the background. I added some Sakura stardust to all of the flowers and to the sentiment.

The main image is called "Rainin Daisies" by Penny Black. The sentiment is from a clear stamp set by Hero Arts and includes lots of beautiful sentiments and frames....(I will be posting some more samples of this set tomorrow!) Both can be found at Stamper's Dream stamps.

Materials used: Stamps by Penny Black and Hero Arts (both available at Stamper's Dream stamps); ink-black, lilac; cardstock-purple, pink, white, vellum; Copic markers; prismacolor pencils; odorless mineral spirits; cuttlebug and Nestabilities (circles, petite ovals), flower embossing folder; ribbon (May Arts); Sakura Stardust jellyroll pen; eyelets and Cropadile; white gel pen (SU!); dimensionals (SU!); slit punch (SU!); prima (bazzill); button (SU!).

Now time to celebrate!!! Time to celebrate 3 months blogging and 40,000 hits!!!! Thank you so much--I am so thrilled someone else reads this besides my mom!

So here it is (sorry about the bad picture--it was hard to cram all this stuff into one shot!):

What you get:
  • 1 sheet of Stampin' Up! rub-ons
  • Tattered Angels glimmer mist
  • Flower embossing punch
  • Making Memories shimmer brads
  • All Night Media brass stencils/charms (butterflies)
  • Stampin' Up! brand new stamp set--So Many Scallops
  • Miss Elizabeth's Paper Scraps pack
  • Hot Hues-Card Making Kit (includes paper and embellishments to make 4 cards!)

What you have to do to win: Just leave a comment on this post and tell me one thing you are grateful for in your life.

Please number your posts (if possible!) and subscribers----(you know what is coming!!!) feel free to post TWICE! (Yes...that means if you subscribe to this blog by ANY means...you may post two comments!)

Random.Cara will pick a winner on MONDAY MORNING at 7 a.m. central time.

Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

Congratulations on so many hits-- not a wonder, as your blog is simply fabulous!!!

I'm most grateful for my husband and two sons. My sons are 26 and 21, and have just moved back home in the last couple of years. Our household is so busy once again, after being an empty nest for a couple of years. Kinda takes my breath away, but to remember that they will be moving along again soon enough!!!

Poor guy. My oldest son has teeth issues also. EVERY time we go to the dentist, there is something else that we have to go back for. His teeth are expensive little things! So, Congratulations on your huge number of hits! I love your blog and check it pretty much every day (I have it bookmarked).
I am grateful for so many things, but right now I am most grateful that God blesses me even when I don't deserve it. Sounds silly but I just got a HUGE box of clothes from a friend of a friend, and now my daughter has adorable (hardly used and some new) clothes for at least another year! Ever since I asked God for a daughter, he's set into motion everything that needed to happen so that I could take care of her; everything including clothes! So, to sum it up, I'm grateful for God's blessings.

Well I guess I am #290...

There are a few things I am grateful for, my son is one of them.
He is almost 5 years old and autistic, communication is hard with him and seeing him struggle in life breaks my heart. But I call him my little ray of sun and he really is, he brings me so much joy. He's full of life, he's handsome and I love him to pieces. Every day he finds new ways to amaze me. He taught me to see life differently and focus more on the little happy things, and I am SO proud of his progress. I know he'll never stop to amaze me and he is a blessing! :-)

WOO HOO; what an awesome giveaway! I so want to try the glimmer mist! Thanks for your generosity; I love reading your blog and being inspired.

I'm so thankful for my hubby and 3 beautiful babes. And yes Cammie, we have a wee little one that freaks when going to the dentist. She was in an accident when she was 3.5 yrs old and had to have her two front (top) baby teeth removed surgically. Then when she turned 4, she had to get false teeth. THEN, if that wasn't enough, her adult teeth on the bottom came in BEHIND her baby teeth and they never loosened so she had to have ANOTHER oral surgery to remove the baby teeth and they cut out the false teeth she had as her adult ones were ready to come in. So you're right - this is a blip on the radar, but it sure doesn't feel like that to a momma's heart! Thinking of you!!

I am grateful for each new day that God has given me to do the little things that matter most. Playing hide and seek with my dog. Holding my hubby's hand. Doing crafts 24/7. Reading blogs until I fall asleep. Learning the vast amount of info on the computer. Just got a wireless laptop mac in October and my brain cells have been reactivated. It is a good day cause I am alive.

Great card. Sorry about your son. My son had the same problem... except that he had three sets of teeth. He had to have the second set removed to make room for the third. Then had to have them removed as well. But, he's glad he has false teeth now. He says he can chew anything without worry! I'm most thankful that I am a Christian and know our God, the Father. He has blessed my life with so much, including my husband, two children, and five grandchildren. God bless. Linda Deline

This is the most easiest thing to do for me. I will try to explain. On March 9, 2000 my husband passed away at the age of 43, Aug 30, 2000, my BIL passed away from a majoy heart attck, Dec 2000, my husband dogs passed away on my lap. May 2001, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, we all know what happened on 9-11, my mom passed away 9-14-01, 2 weeks later my bird passed away at 22 years old, June 7, 2002, my son dog died on my moms birthday, Aug 2003, my cousin died of a rare stomach cancer, March 3, 2004 I had surgery for stage 3 colon cancer, Aug 2005 was rediagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and given 2 to 4 years to live. Well here it will be 4 years later this March 2008 and I'm not on any treatment, my oncologist says I am a Miracle and I will fight this disease till the end. So what I am gratefull for is to be alive.

My saying to everyone is
Forget about yesterday,
it is over
Live for Today,
Maybe think about tomorrow,
because you don't know if you will be here.

Congratulations on the success of your blog! I have been following along, and I really enjoy it.

I feel the same way about dental work...it frightens me. The one time that I was "comfortable", they gave me gas and put earphones on me, so I was in la-la land with the Eagles through the whole procedure :)

Thanks for the blog candy!

the gals in my stamp club.

We were in high school together back in the 70's (we're that old!), but we had gone separate ways. Got reunited in stamping in 2004...so very glad we did :)

There are so many other more aweful things that they could be suffering with. They are doing so well in school and we are just so proud of them! Mary Pickett comment #377

You are right, however, we are healthy and have so many reasons to be grateful! Thanks for the reminder ;) I am most thankful for mine and my family and friends' health. Simply being alive and being able to grasp the abundent blessings that surround me everyday! I love life! I'm also grateful for this awesome blog candy giveaway, hehe! thanks Carolyn! hugs!
