Gotta love Faux stitching!

I created this card for the sketch challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers.

I used My Favorite Things Bundles of Bouquets for the main image and sentiment. The image was colored with a combination of Prismacolor pencils, Copics and stamp pad reinkers. I love mixing mediums and really had fun just playing around.

I really wanted to incorporate some fringe on this card..so I attached it just underneath of the panel going across. The fibers give this a fun look!

Finally, I added some faux stitching all around the edges of the card and on the main panel. This is such an easy way to dress up a card with minimal effort. (My sewing machine is currently boxed up and in a closet while our house is on the market--so I have to settle for faking it!)

Tip: After piercing the holes using a template, just use a thin tipped marker to connect the dots. (Stampin' Up! markers work great!) Do not use a ruler!. The lines will look more like actual stitching if you just free-hand connect the dots!

Materials used: Stamps- Bundles of Bouquets (My Favorite Things); cardstock-vanilla, choc chip, Stampin' Up! Dp; brilliance black ink; Staz-on brown ink; brocade blue and real red classic stamp pads (SU!); choc chip and old olive SU Markers; Copic markers; blender pen; Prismacolor pencils; Sakura stardust gellyroll pen; fibers (Basic Grey-Lily Kate); hemp (Hobby Lobby); paper piercing tool and mat pack (SU!); swirl clip (Paper Studio); corner punch (SU!); brad (We R Memory Keepers); choc ribbon (SU!); dimensionals (SU!); Cuttlebug and tag die.

Thanks for stopping by!

I haven't been around splitcoast much so I've lost track of so many stampers. I'm glad you have a blog, now maybe I can keep up w/u. :)

Love the card!

Hint, Hint, I also have a blog! :D

Faux stitching looks so good, sometimes I wonder why I bother with the machine-it's quicker I guess. I think this is my favorite card with this stamp I've seen. I love the glow.
