I'm Late....

This is late---I was scheduled to sneak peek this brand new set by Gina K Designs yesterday but was out of town---so I am sneaking my sample in today! (Better late than never, right Gina!?)

First, I want to let you all know that I so appreciate your sweet emails and comments about my son. Ben was quite the trooper on Friday. We were at the hospital at 8:30 a.m. and he didn't get called back to the pre-op area until 1. As if dealing with a five year old is hard enough, try dealing with a super HUNGRY one! The poor guy wasn't able to eat and was getting tired.
Ben had a slow time waking up from the anesthesia--took about an hour in the recovery room but all in all he did just great. The poor guy had three root canals, five caps and one tooth pulled. YIPES! We didn't get home from the hospital until dinner time and he just collapsed again on the couch. But--I am happy to report that he is doing GREAT! Woohooo....he got to use his tooth fairy tin I made for him for the first time and we took some video of that. What a trooper he was. Thanks for all of your prayers and concern! I know they helped!

My husband and I were house hunting on Saturday and today so we are very exhausted from all the events of the weekend. We did find a few homes we liked and put an offer on one---fingers crossed that that goes well!

So.....THAT is why this is late. Sorry!

Here is a peek at Melanie's new set "Jumping for Joy!"for Gina K Designs. If you are like me, you just fell in love with all of Melanie's animal stamps--well, she has done it again. I cannot even pick my favorite in this set but I wanted to start off with the zebra.

This card also features some new zoo brads that Gina K will be carrying in her store. What a perfect accent for all those adorable animals!

I created my own background for this card by tearing pieces of white cardstock and then adhering them to the black to mimic the zebra's stripes. I used my easel design to attach the front of the card to the back using the oval punches. I thought the pink fringe would be an adorable accent to the card.

Here is another view of the adorable zebra. Notice that I curved the sentiment along the curve of the circle. Then I added the piercing holes to continue the flow.

Materials used: Stamps-Jumping for Joy! (Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Designs); ink-brilliance black; Copic markers; cardstock-pink, white, black (Stampin' Up!); zoo brads (Gina K Designs); oval punches (Stampin' Up!); Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Nestabilities (Spellbinders); paper piercing tool and mat pack (Stampin' Up!); fringe; dimensionals (SU!).

*****Gina K Designs will be releasing five new sets, four single stamps and some awesome new Bling & Dazzle embellishments on Tuesday night after the new release party from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. CENTRAL time on Splitcoaststampers. Be sure to stop by for fun, games, sneak peeks of the sets and a special code for a free gift with your order!*****

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Okay, first, I am so very glad that your son is doing so well - my son had 11 teeth pulled at once to make room for his adult teeth and they did it all with a local - I really was the one who needed it - LOL! Good to know he came through with flying colors!

Your card is stinkin' adorable, I just love the zebra and the stripes are pure genius! Better late than never is right - I love this! Off to visit Gina! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex

Oh, my! I can't believe all the dental work your poor little guy had to have done at one time -- no wonder he was at the hospital! Glad he's doing so well.

Your zebra card is one of THE cutest cards I've ever seen! The image is darling, but the way you made your own bkgrnd paper, the 'easel' sketch, and the zebra brads are just perfect for this! I love the addition of the pink fiber frills too. Beautiful job!

Hope your offer on the home is accepted. ;)

Oh dear, what a nightmare! I'm so glad he's okay!

your card is terrific, looks like we were all thinking pink and black with one(I didn't post mine yet!) very clever to make your own zebra print the aded texture of the torn paper looks even better than a printed DP would. Love that pink fiber and the curved sentiment, you rock!

Oh Carolyn, I'm happy to hear that Ben did so well. I remember Chloe taking a bit to come out of it too. THEN I was the one who got queezy. I had her on my lap in a rocking chair in the recovery room and the gases coming out of her made me almost faint. They had to take her from me and put ME on oxygen...hahaha! She had one root canal and 8 caps put on her back teeth as there was no enamal on them.
Your card is really cute! I like how you did the sentiment curved and paper pierced around it!
