.....that is how long my daughter's cell phone lasted. Yep---she dropped it in the pool on Monday. Sigh! She was pretty devastated so to make her feel better I told her that I thought it would last at least two weeks---bawaaaa!
.....that is how many days we have before we move. Packers start on Friday---so time is ticking away!
Here is a picture of (most) of my stamping supplies that I wanted to pack up before the packers get here. Sigh! Makes me so sad to see it sitting there all organized! lol!
I also have a quick gift project to share with you. I made these for my son's and daughter's preschool teachers. I created these (super easy) sets of cards and tucked Border's gift cards into the back of them. Each set is tucked into these clear packages I purchased from clearboxes.com and I tied a piece of tulle at the top.
I used My Mind's Eye decorative paper slab to create the cards--then simply stamped these cute frames and greetings in black ink on white cardstock. The stamps are from a clear Hero Arts set called "Frames & Messages." You can find this and TONS of other stamps, embellishments and paper at Stamper's Dream store. If you haven't checked out this store yet---you should. Michelle has tons of fun stuff and is constantly getting new inventory in.
I chose to use the "thinking of you" sentiment because I figured they could use them for many occasions (birthdays, anniversary cards, mother's day, etc.) I kept the designs super simple so that the recipient would not have to worry about adding additional postage when mailing them. Each set has a variety of card designs.
Materials used: Stamps- Frames & Messages (Hero Arts); cardstock-white (SU!); My Mind's Eye decorative paper pad; brilliance black ink; clear card envelope; tulle.
Thanks for stopping by! Back to packing!

So cute...and sad to see everything all boxed up! Good thing it's just temporary! ;) Hope all goes well with your move! Keep us posted! :)
Great stationery sets! And good luck with the move, hope all will go well, it's never a fun time but I like the unpacking in a new house part! :-)
I can't believe poor Cara dropped the phone in the pool!... O_o
Hey, take the battery out of the cell phone and let it air dry all open like that for a couple of days. Then try it again! Good luck!
So sad for your DD...that so sounds like something I would do (and in that time frame!). You can tell her that when I lost one of mine (oh yes, more than once), it fell into the toilet!
Oh, no! Poor Cara!! I hope Dianna's suggestion works for her.
Good luck with your move. Think what fun it will be to get all of your things organized in their new home!
Bummer about the cell phone. Larry "accidentally" dipped his phone in the river (well he fell in), pulled out the battery & put the phone in the fridge for 48 hours and it is as good as new. Don't know the extent of damage to your DD's and it might be too late. Good luck. Best wishes on your move too...I am so impressed by your ability to even think of being creative when you are getting ready to move!
Love the stationary sets! Good luck with the move!
Oh no! So much for the cell phone...in our family, my husband was the first - he dropped it and broke the glass in it...the kids still have not let him live that one down since they still have theirs - LOL!
So sad to pack it way, isn't it? I was you this time last year and remember each and every time!! Uggghhh!! I am sooo glad to be done moving!
Your teachers gifts are fabulous - I am sure they will appreciate the wonderful and thoughtful gift you have given them!
*STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
I'm guess I'm in great company. We're moving too and, like you, I wanted to pack up my own craft supplies. I used 2 x 2 boxes and the packers can put them into bigger boxes if the want. NO ONE packs my supplies but me!!
Love the stationery sets, too.
Great card sets; bet they were a huge hit!!
Yikes, sorry about the cell phone! BUT you sure make me laugh...I'm certain your DD found it as funny as I did? NOT!
Isn't packing the pits!!!! Good luck with the move! And hope the phone's OK!!
I love the gift sets you made!! And thanks for the info on the online stores.....I'm always looking to be enabled! LOL I'm looking at all your stamp supplies packed up........aren't you gonna go crazy???? Just think......soon you'll be setting up a new space!!! And hugs to your dd....it's so hard on them to lose special items!!
The gift card sets are sooooo cute! I love that stamp set, and the papers you've chosen are perfect!
I have been in complete denial about your moving and being MIA for so long. But seeing those supplies packaged up are bringing it all to reality. Wah!
Love those Fabulous gifts for the teachers....wonderful idea!
OMGosh...too bad about the phone...but maybe it will work later....Take Care with all that moving!!
I hope the cell phone survives! My DH dropped his phone in a puddle and it gave us three more months before it finally died. I know that moving can be hard and seeing all of your things being packed up makes me sad. :( Thanks for showing off these adorable sets!
Oh Caro, I think your DD has Marissa beat now. So sorry about the phone...
Hope the move goes well Carolyn! Is it killing you having all that stuff packed up? So nice to have it all organized though...but just think you'll be able to set it up all nice when you move!
Sorry to hear about the cell phone...ack! I've dropped mine in water too...won't say where though ;)
Those are fabulous gifts too1
That is so sad about the phone! I hope you can get it replaced. I dropped mine in a glass of water! Only I could do that (: LOL!
Good Luck with the move!
Awwww the poor girl!! Does insurance cover that? That stinks!!
The teacher gifts are fabulous, I love them!!
Love your blog!
Just have to add my 2 cents on the phone issue...my son dropped my CAMERA in the FULL washing machine. (GULP!!!) It dried out for about 4 days and WORKED!!!! I was telling some friends the story and they told me similar cell phone stories. I really think it may still work. Just let it dry out well before giving up on it. GOOD LUCK!
Here's what you do - put the cell phone out in the sun for a few days. Turn it over every 4 or 5 hours. My husband ran his new cell phone in the washer for the long cycle with WHITES no less. I refused to buy him a replacement so he dried it out on the patio and it works just fine.
Girl, you crack me the heck up! Tell her she will learn when she is 25 and has a cell phone again! ;)
Poor Cara! She sounds like a couple of my older kids...they go through cell phones like crazy (throwing them at the wall, dropping them into toilets, lakes, on the ground too many times, etc.). Some lessons are best learned the hard way (they now replace them themselves -lol); it's just unfortunate that Cara's first phone didn't last longer than eight days.
I think your stationery sets are wonderful -- great teacher gifts, and something they can really use.
All your supplies must be as sad as you are that they're boxed up...but there's so many of them at least they're not lonely. lol And at least it's only temporary. ;)
I like your idea of having your ribbon spools in the over-the-door shoe holder (mine's holding punches).
Hang in there, Cammie! You'll be unpacking in no time...that's the fun part -- when everything's all neat and clean and uncluttered! Too bad it doesn't last long. ;)
I'm sure it's tough to watch all the stuff get packed up! I know what it's like. I did the same thing last year when we made the move. Good luck with everything!!! I laughed when I saw your teacher's gifts. They look almost identical to ones I made for my daughter's teachers! Love those clear boxes!! Take care! :-)
Soon everything will be in your new home, with new memories. And then you can get back to stamping and us. Miss you, wishing you all the best.
Wow, it is sad to see everything packed. But I do have to say I thought I'd see ALOT more boxes for your stamping supplies!LOLOL! Are you hiding some?
Sorry to hear the sad cell phone news, poor thing.
Your card sets look awesome, a great simple way to give some gifts.
bumer on the cell phone. If it makes you feel better my niece dropped hers in a pot of soup she was cooking fried it of course good thing for the insurance on that one. my son sent his trhough the washing machine but you know what it survived that
Good luck on the move thats nerve wracking. I bet you hate having all your crafting stuff packed up
What adorable sets! I'll bet the teacher's will LOVE them! Sorry to hear about the cell phone. . .oh no! And I'm embarrassed to say that I don't think my craft room would fit in the boxes you have pictured! You are so good! LOL
What a PERFECT opportunity to turn over a new leaf and start out with a completely organized craft space! (Good luck with that lasting longer than the phone!!)
Oh, I'm so sad about the phone----I washed mine in my jeans once---if that makes her feel better!! I love your stationery sets! They are so practical and cute! I know the teachers loved them. Thinking about you in the move! YUCK!
woah, that's alotta organized and packed supplies---what a shame, lol! J/K, Carolyn! Congrats on your move, another exciting adventure! Sorry your DD lost her phone in the pool--what a bummer! At least she got creative with it, though--it's not like she just came home and said *I lost my phone* or something, hehe! I love these sets for the kids teachers! What lucky ladies they are to have Miss Cammie to make such awesome handmade gifts for them! Hugs!
Oh no....I'm so sorry about the phone!! I love your stationery sets!! I bet they all loved them as well!!
Sorry about the phone...poor thing as if life wasn't hard enough with the move and all. Keeping you in my thoughts - best of luck with the rest of the packing!
