PSA!

Did you know?
....IF you put an ice cold drink on top of a car that has been sitting in 100 degree heat....and that drink gets knocked over---the cold contents of the drink CAN ACTUALLY crack your windshield? It CAN. Ask me how I know....

One of my sweet Splitcoast friends emailed me the other day saying that during this hectic period....take a few minutes and imagine a place that brings you peace! So....here is a card sharing one of my favorite places on earth---

The Beach!

I created this simple card for the newest Gina K Designs release party and realized today that I never uploaded it to my blog or galleries (gasp!). The image and sentiment are from You Are My Sunshine.

I used my Scor-Pal to create the pattern on the caramel cardstock. I used a crimper to make the corrugated piece behind the main image. I love the simplicity of this. Just enough...

Here is a close up of the main circle and the braided hemp detail.

Materials used: You Are My Sunshine (Gina K Designs); brilliance black ink; Close to cocoa classic stamp pad (Stampin' Up!); cardstock-white, creamy caramel, banana, cool caribbean; Copic markers; Crimper (Fiskars); hemp (Hobby Lobby); Scor-Pal; paper piercing tool and mat pack (Stampin' Up!); circle punches (SU!); scalloped circle punch (SU!); dimensionals (SU!).

Thanks for stopping by!

I am so sorry to hear about your windshield. I think these sort of things happen in our lives to keep us on our toes. On the bright side your card is simply perfect. I really like the braided hemp idea (must try that) and I really must make more use of my scor pal. Thanks for visiting my blog Carolyn and leaving me a message. It so makes my day to see that people are reading and leaving me feedback. I still have a grin on my face.
PS....I am soooooo ready for the beach :)

Bummer about the windshield. At least it's repairable with no permanent effects. I love your card - all the different 'textures' are very cool, and the braided cord is a great idea.

Oh Carolyn, that card is so cute! I love the softness of it. Totally reminds me of sand and sky!

Sorry about your windshield...ack! I've needed mine replaced since winter but I'd rather spend my money on stamps ;)

Sorry about your windshield incident - hope it didn't completely ruin the day for you:(
Oh the other hand, this card is so simple and yet says so much! I love the colors, twisted hemp and scoring. Flip flops just make me think of summer fun, so this card instantly put me in a better mood. Wishing you a great weekend with no more drama! LOL GJ!

Super sweet and summery! BTW -- I want to see a pic of the windshield -- I had no idea that could happen! Good to know. Just what you needed right now, huh?
