Do You Want to Win over $800.....

.....in stamps, supplies and gift certificates----products from companies such as My Favorite Things, Gina K Designs, Stamping Bella, Stamper's Dream, Unity Stamp Company, Hambo Stamps, smARTworks, Jacksonbelle Embellishments, JustRite Stampers, Taylored Expressions, Flourishes, Starving Artistamps, The Cat's Pajamas, Kim Hughes, Verve Visual, Shimmerz Paints, Scor-Pal, Splitcoaststampers, Papertrey Ink and ........lots more????

Stay tuned--September 21 is World Alzheimer's Day and your favorite companies are helping us celebrate.....ONE PERSON WILL WIN A PRIZE PACKAGE THAT IS ALREADY VALUED AT OVER $800 (and is growing by the hour!) for doing something as easy as putting a card in the mail. Will it be YOU!!!!!?????

***************************************

It started as a small idea-----and GREW! Since we just finished releasing Whimsical Autumn (where 100% of my proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association) I wanted to conclude with honoring the caretakers of those with Alzheimer's. What better time to do that than on National Alzheimer's Day??? And so---next week you will find out how you can brighten some one's day and enter to win BIG! (And I mean huge BIG!)

I thought it would be fun to add some blog candy to this and emailed a few companies I thought might be willing to help. About seven seconds after I hit the "Submit" button on my first email, I received a response from Emily of Stamping Bella donating the first (of what became MANY!!!) gifts for the blog candy. Totally amazing gifts, I might add!

I did NOT offer these companies anything---no advertising, no publicity, no nothing....Each of the company owners wanted to help out of the kindness of their heart......and so my goal is to honor each of these amazing companies throughout the months in the only way I know how---by using their amazing stamps and products!

Since Emily (Stamping Bella) was the first (followed minutes later by others) to donate---I wanted to use a Bella to help spread the word!

I created this card with Stampingbella---what a fun gal she is. If you have been under a rock and have not seen these adorable stamps -- you must check them out! (A few favs: i-wish-I-looked-so-good-on-a-bike-ABELLA, Cosmobella , cuppacakeabella , snowbunnybella, teddybella).

To create this design, I simply masked her stamping supplies (sob!) so I could add my punched hearts....I used rub-0ns for the sentiment and I just love how the "to" blends right into the big hearted Bella!

Bella's heart is covered with red stickles.

Materials used: Stamps-Stamping Bella (Stamping Bella); cardstock-white, black (Stampin' Up!), Bohemia (My Mind's Eye), 4 bar notes (a muse); Memento Black Ink (Tsukineko); rub-ons-Always & Forever (Imaginisce); eyelets (Stampin' Up!) Cropadile; ribbon (Offray); heart punches (Creative Memories); red stickles (Ranger); black crystal stickers (Mark Richards); dimensionals (Stampin' Up!).

So---make sure you check out my blog on September 21 for "Heart to Heart"---find out how you can brighten some one's day AND win BIG!!!

In other news: We are awaiting hurricane Ike here---My in laws just came to stay with us--they live in Baytown right outside of Houston (near Galveston) and had a mandatory evacuation (yipes!) Please keep all those in the storm's path in your prayers tonight.

Thanks for stopping by!

I have been touched by this with 3 family members. It's hard to understand, and to wrap your mind around when a person you love is afraid to be in a room with you because they do not know who you are. It is a devistaing disease that affects the family in such a heart wrenching way...Thank you for your efforts to help. I love your work, and am glad to have been able to see what you have accomplished with this.

What a wonderful, thoughtful idea. I know first hand about this disease. I cared for my uncle who had it, he has since passed. It's a difficult and trying disease.

Your card is just adorable. I visit your site daily but don't always post.

I wanted to let you know "we" have given you an award, you can stop by and pick it up at our blog.
Have a wonderful day.

I am sorry to post again but I just read your message about your Grandmothers passing, and how you were glad that her suffering had ended, but that you wished for one more moment. I am in tears...my Grandmother has been "gone" from us for years in this disease, but I still wish for one more conversation with her...one more day where we talk about everything and nothing...where we talk of my Grandfather and how we both miss him...just one moment.

My prayers are with everyone in Ike's path. We have been known to have a few hurricanes here in Florida too.

I just ordered your stamp set and can hardly wait to get playing.

What a great idea! Thanks!!

What a generous thing you and Gina K are doing with your set! I understand the heartbreak of Alzheimers. My mom is in an assisted living facility and doesn't remember one day from the next. My contribution to the cause is that I donate cards for all the residens' birthdays -- as well as various holidays.

Keep safe with Ike. I understand it made landfall. We Floridians understand your situation.

Such terrific news Cammie!! Isn't it amazing how it just takes one small thing to start something soooo big. I don't mean to sound like a parent, but I am soooo proud of you! You threw the pebble and I feel so honoured to be able to watch the ripples that are taking place because of it :)
Thank you so much for being an angel and for all the other angels that have joined with you in your cause :)
My prayers go out to all that may be in the storms path.

Cammie, I hope that you and your family are safe after yesterday's terrible storm. My prayers are with you. I will be watching your blog on September 21st, not for the blog candy "well maybe a little" but for my MOM. She died of Alzheimer's in April and she would have been 84 years old on September 24th.
This is a terrible debilitating disease. When my Mom died she weighed
67lbs, was paralized in a fetal position, could not speak and responded only to my name. I know this is tough to hear but my Mom starved to death because they lose the ability to swallow. Some people think that Alzeimers is that you forget things and people but that is only the beginning of a very long road for the afflicted, their families who have to watch them suffer and those amazing people who care for them in the end.
What you are doing to bring awareness of people suffering with Halzheimer's is wonderful and I would like to help in any way possible just ask.

I am there for sure. I am amazed at how your generosity is growing by leaps and bounds and will be a blessing to so many. By reading the comments left on this blog it saddens my heart to know there are so many that affected by this disease. I never realized how bad it really was. This has been an eye opener and education for me since I've never known anyone to be affected. So not only are you rasing money for a wonderful cause, you are helping to educate those of us that knew nothing about the disease before.

You have planted a seed that God is using to grow into something so much greater than anyone could have imagined. I pray He continues to bless you Carolyn and that your seed of generosity continues to grow.

On a little note, I do as much as I can to help make their lives livable in a unrecognizable, decreased brain function world.... Please do your part get involved. Volunteer, educate Be aware.
