Spooky Greetings!

Here is a card I created with two of My Favorite Things newest sets Branch Out and We're Not Scared. The sentiment is from last month's release Monster Squad.

I wanted to create a fall scene and thought the owls would look adorable perched on the branches. I created this scene by punching a circle shape and placing it on my white cardstock. TIP: When using a mask, it is best to punch (or stamp) on thin paper so that the ink will go right up to the edge of the paper.
I brayered across the cardstock with more mustard ink (SU!). Then I sponged around the edges and with more mustard and close to cocoa inks (SU!).
The branches are stamped in black in. I stamped the owls (one larger and two smaller to represent a mama and her babies!) on white cardstock, colored them with Copic markers (ivory, sepia) and then clear embossed them to give them a shine and to make them more sturdy.

I perched each owl on a branch using a dimensional (SU!). The raised owls create some nice shadows on the background.

I created the border with the slit punch (SU!) and then added the corner punch and the tab on the side. The purple paper and the ribbon are from My Favorite Things.

Here is a close up of the owls..you can really see the shadows in this shot.

Materials used: Stamps-We're Not Scared, Branch Out, Monster Squad (My Favorite Things); cardstock-caramel, white, black (Stampin' Up!); Designer paper-Spooky 2 (My Favorite Things); Ribbon-purple polka dots-Spooky Collection (My Favorite Things); jumbo eyelet (SU!); black brad; Cropadile; Copic Markers; Brilliance black ink; ink-more mustard, close to cocoa (Stampin' Up!); tab punch, slit punch (SU!); Curved corner punch (EK Success); sponge; clear embossing powder; Versamark; Heat tool; dimensionals (SU!).
