Hello! Hope you all had fun celebrating WCMD on Saturday. I managed to create a few cards for some amazing card-raisers (see post below!) and I will be working on more this week.
Today, I wanted to give all of you an update on how much has been raised through my Whimsical Autumn set (100% of my proceeds from this set go to the Alzheimer's Association).
To date--we have raised $1402.61 (($761 from my proceeds from the set, $450 from a matching gift from the Association Board and $191 from my stamping friend Lesa Smaligo!! You rock gf!) So THANK YOU!!! This set will continue to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association but I just wanted to show you the amazing results from the first month!
Also, I am so happy to report that over 850 cards have been sent to caregivers of Alzheimer's patients. This is a rough estimate as I know many people were making more than one card and some were even organizing card parties so I know the actual total is much greater! (I hope to get a picture of all the cards hanging at the Artman home and I will post it if I am able to get someone to take one for me! Nudge, nudge...how 'bout it Dad?)
I have no words---Just know that you all rock!!! I will be continuing to honor the wonderful companies who donated to the Heart to Heart blog candy throughout the coming months.
Monday = CCEE challenge day! This month it is Dawn's turn to challenge us and her first challenge is "To make a fall card creating your own patterned paper."
To go with the announcement today, I had to use the Whimsical Autumn set for my card (grin!)
I colored the main basket of apples with Copic markers and then added some clear embossing powder to just the apples to give them some shine. My created patterned paper was made with the leaf image from the set. I thought it would be fun to have the leaves falling from the sky for this fall-themed card.
I added a hemp tie at the top of the scalloped piece and then added a strip of scallops at the top of the card. Here is a close up of the main image and the leaves. You can also see that the sentiment is two-toned. I stamped the words in cocoa ink and then used a Chocolate chip marker to add the darker color to the bottom of the words.
Materials used: Stamps-Whimsical Autumn (Carolyn King for Gina K Designs); sentiment-A Year of Flowers (Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Designs); Copic markers; ink-Momento tuxedo black, Close to cocoa, caramel, chocolate chip marker (Stampin' Up!); Clear embossing powder (SU!); Versamark pen; Heat tool; Marvy scalloped circle punch; Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Cuttlebug (Provocraft); eyelet (Making Memories); Cropadile; slit punch (Stampin' Up!); brads (Heidi Swapp); hemp (Stampin' Up!); dimensionals (Stampin' UP!)
You can check out all of the amazing CCEEers creations HERE! We hope you will play along!
Thanks for stopping by!
