The Littlest Angel

Did you ever see a stamp that you just HAD to have? Well, that is exactly what happened when I saw this beautiful stamp called James by Artful Stamper. (I have renamed this stamp Joey in memory of my little angel.)

This image is beautifully drawn. When I think of a baby angel--this is what I envision. The image is large- 3" by 5" and is so fun to color or paper piece.

The really cool thing about this image is that you can use it as an angel stamp OR you can stamp it and cut it out leaving off the wings and halo to make him an adorable little boy. (I will be making a little boy card with this image for sure!)

I stamped the image on designer paper (Stampin' Up!) with versamark ink and embossed it in gold this gave the whole image a golden glow!) I stamped the image again on white cardstock and colored him in with Prismacolor pencils. I stamped the image on designer paper (Basic Grey) and cut out the nightgown and adhered it to the main image. The image was stamped one more time just so I could cut out the wings. I colored them with my gold Zigpainty pen and cut out the wings (leaving a little tab on the inside where it would connect to the boy.) I folded the wings forward and adhered them to the boy.
The repeated gold embossed wing on the paper looks like the edge of his other wing.
I added some gold stickles on top of the gold embossing of the halo to give it more of an "angelic" feel!

I added some golden corners and a golden ribbon slide (all of which I created using Spellbinders shapability dies.) Finally, I added a bit of May Arts ribbon and some gold cording.

This is definitely a card that just focuses on the main image--so it is a good thing that I LOVE that stamp!

You can find this precious stamp (as well as stickles, May Arts ribbon, etc) at Stamper's Dream store.

Materials used: Stamps-James (The Artful Stamper); Black Memento ink; cardstock-white, gold (Stampin' Up!); designer paper-Stampin' Up! and blue (Basic Grey-Periphery); Shapeability Dies--Hardware Buckles, Photo Corners (Spellbinders); Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestability Dies (Spellbinders); Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Prismacolor pencils; gold cording (May Arts); ribbon (May Arts); Versamark; Gold embossing powder (SU!); Heat tool; Gold Zigpainty pen; gold brads (SU!); Gold stickles (Ranger); dimensionals (SU!).

Thanks for stopping by!

I LOVE what you've done with sweet baby Joey. Total perfection! And of course, I had to go back and read your *Angels Are Hard To Find* post again, and bawl like a big ol' baby. So, so sweet in every way.

Oh, Carolyn. I'm so sorry that you lost your little Joey. I know no one can take his place, but I'm so glad you've been blessed with more children to help fill your heart.

Beautiful card, as always, and that image is precious. ;)

Carolyn, What a beautiful card. I went back and read about your son, Joey. I'm proud of you for your honesty and sharing the experience because I can tell you that you have blessed many with your words. I hope someday I can meet you in person and give you a big ol' hug because you have a heart of gold. Joey is with Jesus and you can look forward to the day when you are with him...precious and perfect!
