Warm and Cozy Christmas Card

I love this adorable image from Gina K Designs. It is one of the stamps in her new set called Warm and Cozy Christmas.

I stamped the little boy with Memento black ink and colored him with Prismacolor Pencils and Odorless mineral spirits. TIP: To create the "out of the box" design, I used a rectangle nestability die and positioned it over the stamped image. Then, I took a pencil and outlined the inside of the die, being careful to stop the line when I reached part of the image. After tracing the shape, I used my scissors to cut out the lines and the image that was left outside the lines.
This is a simple way to create a fun focal point of a card.

I embellished it with the Pure Luxury Holiday ribbon from Gina K Designs....you have to check out this ribbon---it is heavenly!
I also used an EK Success corner punch and some fun holiday paper from Making Memories. Here is a close up of the image:

You can see the coloring a bit better in this picture. I also added some icicle stickles to the ground to add a bit of sparkle to the snow.

The final detail is an embossed snowflake background.

Materials used: Warm and Cozy Christmas (Gina K Designs); ink-Memento Black, real red (SU!); Pure Luxury Holiday ribbon (Gina K Designs); Prismacolor pencils; Odorless Mineral Spirits; cardstock-red, white (Stampin' Up!); Making Memories designer paper-St. Nick collection; Stickles-icicle (Ranger); Curved corner punch (EK Success); Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Snowflake embossing folder (Provocraft); dimensionals (SU!).
Thanks for stopping by!
