When I stamp...I look for the easiest shortcuts and I want to get the most use from my stamps. So, I am going to share a few of the tricks and cheats I use to stamp EASY! Here is one:
The first trick is altering stamped images. You can alter many of the stamp images you have by masking off sections or rubbing off ink on certain areas of the image before stamping. But, you can also alter stamps after they have been stamped.
Over a year ago, I drew this doctor set (Dr. Feelgood) for Gina K Designs. I love using him in his original form to create fun and spunky valentines for my husband, get well cards for friends (who want to laugh!)..etc. But, there are times when I need the good doctor to PUT HIS PANTS on!
Here is the EASY way to alter the image. First stamp the image. I used Memento tuxedo black ink on Gina K's Pure Luxury layering weight cardstock.
Then, take a black thin lined pen and extend his short lines down to his ankles. Draw rounded shapes around his feet to resemble shoes.
Next, color his pants with a black Copic marker and his shoes with dark brown and a bit of black. Whola! A respectable doctor.
Here is the card I created with this image. I am tucking this into my husband's bag next week when he takes his level II anesthesia boards in New York. You could easily substitute a "GET WELL" sentiment here too. The hearts are also in the same Dr. Feelgood set. And, for a finishing touch, I added a little rain dot heart to his stethoscope!
AND....coming in two weeks to Gina K Designs......a much requested companion set to Dr. Feelgood. Shhhh!!! Bet you can't guess what it is?!
Thanks for stopping by!
