Thank YOU, Paper Crafts, for the article about the Heart to Heart Alzheimer's Card drive:
Check back here on Sunday for all the details!!!
Great article, Cammie! I'm sure this project will be a huge success this year!
Loved your interview, Cammie! I'll be back on Sunday! You are so wonderful to think about the caregivers. My grandmother passed away after a battle with this horrendous disease, and I lost my dear mom to cancer. Having been a caregiver to them both, I so respect what you are doing. It's amazing what a tough job that is, but also what a feeling of emptiness inside when the need for caregiving has passed with the loved one - it's like hitting a brick wall after so many weeks or months of intense crisis'. You are such a good woman - God bless you!!!
What a terrific article! I'm so inspired and ready to make some time for making cards for your drive.
What a great article! I can't wait for Sunday!!
Carolyn, it was so easy to do this for such a great cause and wonderful member of the paper crafting community. We admire the passionate energy you put into this project, and I really appreciate the time you took to share all the details.-Jennifer Schaerer
Thank you sooo much for starting this Cammie! My Gram is living with Alzheimer's and I lost 4 more relatives to this horrible disease. My mother is a loving and dedciated caregiver and I appreciate what you are doing! I will participate and help in any way I can.
What a great article/interview! Congratulations! I missed your first card drive, looking forward to it.
You go, girl!!!!
Cammie, I read this article and couldn't stop crying. My father in law, Billy, was diagnosed with Alzheimers 5 years ago. My mother in law, Catherine, was his primary caretaker. We all tried to pitch in, but we work full time so the majority of the task fell to Catherine. On Dec. 16, 2009, Catherine died of cancer (only 6 weeks after her diagnosis). We believe it was the stress from Billy's worsening condition. We (my husband, sister and brother in law) for 4 months, but had to make the gut wrenching decision to place Billy in a full care facility. Billy passed away two weeks ago. Alzheimers has claimed 3 people from my family and 3 from my husbands. I applaud you for what you are doing. I hope to be back on Sunday (emotions are still very raw so I am struggling with focus and creativity). We do plan to walk in the Memory Walk 2010 in Las Vegas, NV on Nov. 6 to help raise money for the Alzheimers Association! Thank you again!Mary Bridges
