Designer Gift Card holder

Hope you are having a GREAT weekend. We are (finally!) enjoying a rainy weekend here.

Today, I wanted to share one of my favorite 'shaped' creations with you:
I designed this to look pretty much like my Coach bag. I used some great leather paper from PaperTemptress to create the bag. I added some faux stitching (poking piercing holes and connecting the holes with a white gel pen). You can also sew the detail with a sewing maching (but mine doesn't like me so I did it the easy way!) I added some hardware and a little initial tag. Finally, I tucked a piece of tissue inside so you can see where the gift card would go.

Supplies List:
Paper: leather (PaperTemptress)
Ink: white gel pen (Ranger)
Accessories: silver eyelets (SU!); paper piercing tool and bazzill piercing mat; hardware (We R Memory Keepers); Cropadile; Martha Stewart rub on initial; Cuttlebug and tag die (Provocraft)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hop Around the Block with MFT

Hi everyone! Welcome to the My Favorite Things Hop Around the Block blog hop! If you want to start at the beginning of the hop, head on over to Kim's blog and follow the links.

Each month the design team kicks off the newest release with a fun blog hop. The new stamps that you see on this hop will be released on Wednesday night after the New Release Cocktail Party on Splitcoaststampers from 8-10 p.m. EASTERN.

This month I wanted to use the newest flopsey- Birthday Flopsey - for one of my hop cards. I just adore him!!!

Materials used: Stamps-Birthday Flopsey (My Favorite Things); Memento tuxedo black ink; Copic Markers; Perfect Paper panels (My Favorite Things); white cardstock - Gina K Pure Luxury; designer paper White Out (We R Memory Keepers); tag punch (SU!); star punch; corner rounder punch (Creative Memories); button (The Paper Studio); ric rac; hemp (SU!); foam mounting tape.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink on a Perfect Paper Panel and colored him with Copic markers. I pieced the cake and added some white gel pen icing. Instead of using the little candles that come with the set, I just punched out a star to stick on the top of the cake. I stamped the sentiment and punched it out with a tag punch.

For my next card, I decided to use the new WTG set--Girls Day In--in a different way. This set has two larger images (a girl getting a pedicure and a girl getting a manicure) and lots of other fun coordinating images and sentiments. But, every time I looked at the image of the girl getting a manicure, I kept envisioning an engagement ring on her hand.

So, for this card, I gave into my vision.....a fun wedding or engagement card:The girl and the sentiment are from the new set. I used part of the "Celebrate Yourself" sentiment. I drew an engagement ring on the image before cutting it out and paper piecing the dress. The girls robe is transformed into a wedding dress by simply wiping off a bit of the robe ink before I stamped. The beautiful paper is called Silver Lustre from PaperTemptress (see link on side bar.) I also used some fun tulle. I paired this set with Boho Blossoms and embossed the heart from this set for the background.

Materials used: Stamps- Girls Day In, Boho Blossoms (My Favorite Things); Memento tuxedo black ink; cardstock-white, black Pure luxury (Gina K Designs); Silver Lustre (PaperTemptress); rhinestones (the Paper Studio); tulle; corner rounder punch (Creative Memories); foam mounting tape; red embossing powder (Ranger); white embossing powder (SU!); Versamark; heat tool.

Home is where the HEART is

Happy Sunday! I wanted to share a little project I created with some of the new paper from Paper Temptress!!!

I created the envelope with the heavy weight clear vellum. When you score this, it gives a nice crisp edge and it is sturdy enough to be used for a card base too!
The inside card was created using the Incandescent Russo cardstock. Can you see the shine? I embossed a heart on the bottom.
The inside is layered...I used Candido Incandescent over the Russo Incandescent.
The vellum overlay reads "Where we love is home, Home that the feet may leave but not our hearts."
There are tons of new papers that have just been added to the PaperTemptress website. If you love quality, beautiful cardstock, you might want to check it out!

Silver Lustre Flowers

Hello everyone! As you read this I am off visiting my in-laws for the weekend. But, I did create a card to post for today! (JOY!)

The stamp is from the new Floral Frenzy kit from Gina K Designs. If you haven't checked out the new Stamp TV---you have to! It is amazing! SEE ya there!

This card also features some of the new Silver Lustre cardstock from PaperTemptress that will be in the store on February 25th (more details to follow!). This stuff is amazing. You can stamp on it and color and the paper absorbs the ink and makes it shimmer. The card looks different depending on what angle you are looking at it from.

Here is one view:
Can you see all the shimmer???? Copics work a bit differently on this cardstock. The the color is a bit more muted (or pearlescent)..the blender works well to create highlights---instead of moving the color, it removes it. The Copics look beautiful on it. I am excited for everyone to try it.

<--Here is another view of the card. Lying flat you cannot see the shimmer as much. (SEE--looks different!)

The rest of the cardstock is Mica Metallic in Amber, Cappuchino and bronze. I love the gorgeous look of this cs...it has already become one of my all time favorites.

Materials used: Stamps-Elegant Flowers-Floral Frenzy (Gina K Designs); Memento black ink; Copic markers; Cardstock-Silver Lustre, Amber, Cappuchino, Bronze Mica Metallic (all from PaperTemptress); Spellbinders photo corner dies, circle and scalloped circle dies; Cuttlebug (Provocraft); textile embossing folder (Provocraft); hardware (We R Memory Keepers); ribbon (May Arts).

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Elegant Cross and Gettin Dirty

I needed another sympathy card for a dear friend. I was missing my mojo for most of the week so this took me too long to make. I received a package with some GORGEOUS Mica Metallic Cardstock from PaperTemptress on Friday and I knew what I wanted to do! ETA: This cardstock is in the store! You can find it here!
I used Mica Metallic cardstock in amber, gold and cappachino. (sigh! ) You cannot see all the flecks of shimmer on this in the photo, but in real life--this just glistens.

I embossed the cross image (Elegant Cross from Rubber Stampede) on the Amber and then added some jewels and metal adhesive dots. I embossed the background stamp in gold on the cappachino and then matted the cross on scalloped oval nestabilities.

<--Here is another view of the card lying down. Materials used: Stamps-Elegant Cross (Rubber Stampede); K-Ren BG 23 (Stampa Rosa Inc); gold embossing powder; Versamark; Heat tool; Cardstock-Mica Metallic Cardstock-Amber, gold, Capachino (The PaperTemptress); Mark Richards Metal adhesive dots; Wedding jewels (The Paper Company); Spellbinders Oval Nestabilities; Spellbinders Decorative Photo corners.
