I Moose You! Insert Card

Heee....remember how I told you my camera was broken. Since I have NO visual when I take a picture it is sometimes hard to judge if I am getting the whole card in the photo....this one just eeked by!

I know, I have to get a new camera!

In the meantime...please pardon my photos! This card features two new sets from My Favorite Things that will be released tomorrow night--Nature Calls and What's Your Sign?

I wanted to do something a bit different with this masculine card.....so I created the insert and then designed a back panel that it sits in. (The circle with the grommet at the bottom holds the card in place!) You just pull up on the card part to take it out and reveal the inside message...

The designer paper I used for this is from Cosmo Cricket-Mr. Campy line. So perfect for this set. I used lots of man ribbon (aka hemp) to embellish the card. I tied some a few times through the grommets at top and then I created some criss-cross detail on the bottom corner. I wanted to keep the embellishments masculine and simple to go with the theme.

Here is a close up of the dimension of the moose scene. I created the hill by masking the sky and then brayering over the bottom with brown ink.

The trees and moose are stamped, colored and cut out and then applied to the card for some added dimension. The moose head (not the antler part) was stamped, colored, cut out and adhered on top of the original one for a more realistic look.

Here is what the card part looks like when you slide it out of the circle and open it up. I used the What's Your Sign? set to create the inside sign that reads "I Moose You"--heehee!

Materials used: Stamps: Nature Calls, What's Your Sign? (My Favorite Things); ink-brilliance black, old olive and close to cocoa stamp pads (SU!); Copic Markers; Prismacolor pencils; brayer; grommets (Stampin' Up!); Cropadile; hemp (Hobby Lobby); cardstock-very vanilla, old olive (SU!); Cosmo Cricket designer paper-Mr Campy; dimensionals (SU!); punches-oval, circle punches (SU!).

Don't forget--My Favorite Things releases FIVE new sets tomorrow night. Join us HERE at the release party from 9-11 p.m. central WEDNESDAY NIGHT to see all the new sets, check out some MFTeasers and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer.
Thanks for stopping by!
