Ornament and Gift Box

I stumbled across this (rare) scene last night -- my littlest two reading books in my daughter's bed. I had to grab the camera before the moment was gone...

Shortly after I took this picture, Lauren's feet got a bit too close to Ben and the silence was broken! It was nice while it lasted...
********************
Today I want to share this ornament and box I created using Stampin' Up! I Wish Scrappin' Pack. I LOVED this paper (kit) as soon as I saw it and (of course!) it was back ordered for a bit. The awesome paper and stickers in this pack made putting this little gift together a breeze!

Here is a picture of the box itself:

I created a super simple template for this box (I can post directions if you are interested---very easy!). I decorated it with stickers from the Scrappin' kit so it took NO TIME!

Here is a better view of the ornament:

This is one of those unfinished paper machie ornaments you can find for .99 cents at Hobby Lobby. I simply cut triangle pieces of the designer paper and adhered them onto the star using Modge Podge. After I glued the sections on, I sanded the edges a bit and then applied another layer of Modge Podge over the whole ornament.

Materials used: I Wish Simply Scrappin' Kit (Stampin' Up!); brads (Stampin' Up!); dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); paper machie star ornament (Hobby Lobby); sanding block (Stampin' Up!); Modge Podge; ribbon (Stampin' Up!).
Thanks for stopping by!

What an elegant gift I am sure we would all love to receive. I like that you created the ornament and a way to present it. We are always looking for ways to package items because we all know it truly is all about the presentation. TFS.

Your kids are too cute! I know what you mean by the silence... There hasn't been much of that around my house this week (sigh!). I love your gift box and star ornament! My first thought was that that you made the box and how well the papers matched the star you 'bought!' until I read that you made the star, too! Wow! Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing! I would love to see how you made it, too!

Cute pic of your kids. Funny how those moments can be so fleeting isn't it....I was enjoying watching my kids having fun together yesterday...until one of them made just the wrong move and everyone was mad. Goofy!

Your box and ornament are lovely! The star is sooo pretty!

What a sweet photo (and I know how that goes about it not lasting nearly long enough...!) And LOVE your project, now I need to go and get myself a star to decorate!! I came by tonight because I got my Paper Crafts magazine today and saw you in there as Stamping Royalty! YAY!!!! I was happy for you - but of course I *already knew* you were stamping royalty, it's about time the magazine figured that out!! :-)
