Lori Whitlock Valentine Blog Hop

If you are here from CARDMAKER blog, see post below!

Hello! Welcome to the Lori Whitlock Valentine Blog Hop!  All of the designers are working with some of Lori's newest Valentine's releases to get you inspired to create your own!

I chose the Heart Shaped Box for my project:
This box is so easy to make.  I used Echo Park's Yours Truly paper for it and only needed minimal embellishments, because it honestly looks fabulous on its own.  And this box is pretty big---It has a bag of Hershey's miniatures in it and there is still plenty of room in it... (ok, that could be because I had to sample a few!)

To see more projects using Lori's files, head on over to these fabulous blogs:

And. to help celebrate....Lori is having a sale in her online store---

PS: Yes, I have some CHA pictures to share.  I got home late last night so it will not be happening today. Hopefully I will have a post to share on the weekend :)

Spideriffic!

So, I had to make one more cob web box :) It is just too cute.....
(and it was easy enough to make while watching Dancing with the Stars!)

I found this 3D spider in the Silhouette store and thought he would look adorable perched on the cob web box designed by Lori Whitlock. I used some paper scraps by Echo Park and created the little banner sentiment using My Favorite Things Banner die and some Echo Park (Apothecary Emporium) stickers.

Easy peasy!

Supplies:

Silhouette files- cobweb box cut file by Lori Whitlock; 3D spider by Kenzie Daley.

Patterned paper-Summer Days- Banners (Echo Park); Black Magic- Apothecary Emporium Collection (Echo Park); Noir Pattern Dot (Making Memories)

Die- Banner Day (My Favorite Things); circles (Spellbinders)

Ink- tea dye (Ranger)
Rhinestones- Recollections, Michael's

BOOtiful Box

Hello! Happy Monday!

Just had to share this funny story with you. Last night when I was talking to my daughter Lauren (6) before bed, I was telling her about why she had off today:
Me: You usually have school on Mondays but tomorrow you have off.
Lauren: Why?
Me: Because it is Columbus Day.
Lauren: What is that?
Me: A holiday to remember Christopher Columbus--he discovered America.
Lauren: Wow. Is he going to do that tomorrow?

hee! LOVE her!

Speaking of LOVE. I broke down and got a Silhouette over the weekend....and I am so glad I did. This machine is magical :)
I was playing around with it and downloaded this free Cobweb window box from Lori Whitlock. You can find it here. The amazing Lori Whitlock and uber talented Tamara ( Happy Life Crafty Wife Blog) are hosting a decorating contest. Just use either box design, decorate it and enter to win!

Here is my project:

I also used the "Bootiful" sentiment by Lori (available in the Silhouette store). Patterned paper is by Echo Park Paper.

OCL Sneak Peek Day 1

Hi there! Today is the first day of sneak peeks of the new release from Our Craft Lounge and my first release as an Our Craft Lounge design team member :) You can find a list of all the fabulous designers who are sharing projects today on the Our Craft Lounge Blog.

I used A Little Witchy to create this Halloween treat box:

To create this, I just made a box from black cardstock and added some patterned paper. I stamped all the images from the set on white cardstock and cut them out. The witch's outfit is paper pieced and I used Copic markers to color the rest of the images. I stamped the sentiment on a label and added all the elements to the box.

Like what you see? You can find these new releases at Memories of Time.

Blog candy: All comments left on the designer's preview posts on Wednesday and Thursday and blog hop post on Friday will be included in the blog candy drawing on the OCL blog that ends Friday night at midnight (PACIFIC), so be sure to leave a comment on all the blogs you visit!

See you tomorrow for another OCL new release project!

Simple Spring Box

I am battling a bad cold so I will likely be taking the weekend off from blogging until my head clears. Hopefully I will be able to get back to blog hopping soon!

Today I wanted to share this little box I created. I used my box tutorial to create the box and then just added the decorations and handle.
I used Spellbinders Daisy Heads dies for the center flower. I inked the dye with color box yellow ink before running it through my NEW Wizard (LOVE that thing!) I also decorated the border (Spellbinders Pierceabilities 5 1/2 Pinking Border) with the same ink. I ran the border through my Wizard and then embossed the shape. When I removed the paper and die, I pierced through the template holes and then I sponged the color over the embossed designs. I love how simple this was to create.

The large classic scalloped rectangle was cut out and then I scored the pattern using my Scor-Pal. I only used part of the rectangle for this so you could see the three sides of scallops on the front.

Hope you have a great weekend!
