16 Years Mini Album

Hi there! Well, I thought I would share this mini album I made for my daughter for her birthday.  She turns 16 in two weeks and I just cannot believe how the time has flown.  Truth be told--I am also posting this because yesterday I had one of those FANTASTIC mommy moments.  Yep...I arrived at her end-of-the-year awards assembly at 9 am, camera in hand.  Sadly, the ceremony was at 8 and I got there just in time to see the throngs leaving the auditorium.  Sad:(

So, I am making myself feel less crappy by posting this gift I made for her. It was on the SRM blog yesterday.  I used Echo Park This & That Graceful collection on it and tons of SRM stickers:

SRM Stickers used: We've Got Your Number, Extra Large (#48095), Express Yourself- Everyday Girl (#42041), Express Yourself- Everyday Boy (#42040), We've Got Your Sticker- Princess (#53007).

Thanks for stopping by today!

Basketball Mini Album

Hello! I am back from vacation :)   We had an awesome time despite the cold/rainy weather that plagued us in San Diego!  We did manage to get a few hours of sun here and there and had a really relaxing trip.  Today, I have a mini album on the SRM blog.

I used some Bella Blvd patterned paper (Making the Team) and TONS of SRM stickers to create it.  I used Helmar Acid Free Glue to adhere the paper to the chipboard.

Here are some pictures--I added some close ups here so you can see the detail a bit easier!

Love Story Album

Hello!  Hope you had a great weekend!  Cannot believe it is Monday....again!  Seems like there are more Mondays than any other day :)

Today I wanted to share a project I had on the Helmar blog this weekend.  It is a mini album.  I thought this would be a great idea to write down all the stories that I have heard growing up about my parents, grandparents and great grandparents.  Then, the stories could be passed on to my kids and their kids...

The album is called "Love Story":
I used Helmar Acid Free glue to adhere the patterned paper to the album, after I painted the edges with some butter creme acrylic paint.

I used Helmar Zapdots to pop up the title stickers and the chipboard panel on the cover.  I LOVE the dimension I can get from the Zapdots.   I used the black circles for this project because they are large enough to hold the weight of the chipboard.

The patterned paper and stickers on this album are by Authentique - Uncommon Collection.

Other supplies:
Chipboard album
Butter creme Acrylic paint
Rub on - Et Cetera (Bo Bunny)
Heart Die- The Cat's Pajamas
Patterned paper/ Letter stickers/ word stickers- Uncommon Collection - Authentique
Key charm
Tulle
Ink- Tea dye distress ink (Ranger); Memento Tuxedo black
Stamp- It's Ok (Technique Tuesday)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Find Joy Every Day mini album

ETA: ohhh! Just found out that my album is being featured on Lori Whitlock's blog today! If you get the chance, I would love it if you would head on over there and tell her I sent you! Thanks so much!

Hello! Happy Friday :) This week went fast! Pretty excited to go to Pizza/Bingo night and my youngest kids' school tonight. My six year old is pumped to learn how to play bingo. She has been on such a Memory game kick so I am excited to introduce her to a new game!

Speaking of fun times with the kids---a few weeks ago my husband, sister and I took all of our kids to a local farm to pick apples. It was so much fun. We literally came home with 90 apples because we all wanted to pick them!
I created this little mini album of some of the pictures I took that day: I used two Silhouette files-apple and sentiment (both by Lori Whitlock) for the cover of the album. I used some white SRM number stickers to create the little date banner.

Here is a detail shot of the apple:
Page 1 of the album features another Silhouette file- tree (by Lori Whitlock). I layered the leaves so that they have some dimension. I folded the top layer so that half sticks out. I also used a white gel pen to add some veins in the leaves.
"Live Simply" is a SRM sticker (one of my favies!):
Page 2 features another Silhouette file by Lori Whitlock. Love this one. I stitched along the edges of the sentiment.
I added some Twinery ribbon after I finished the front and back pages so that I could layer it underneath the picture on the other side:
Page 3 mostly features a picture :) I love it. It is of my niece. I caught her in a moment when she was just staring at her apple she just picked. I added some SRM stickers on top of the picture:

Page 4 is a picture of my son, Ben (8.5). He really didn't want his picture taken so I had to take a few when he wasn't looking. I love this one! I used a fun leaf design from my Silhoutte (also by Lori Whitlock) to embellish this page. The sticker is another one from SRM stickers. "Good!" pretty much sums it up!
Page 5 is just a picture of one of the apple trees. Had to capture it with all the apples. Sentiments and dotted circle are both from SRM stickers:
Page 6 features my daughter, Cara (15). Love this one---because of her happy smile! I used a white SRM sticker "Smile" on the picture. The sticker is from Echo Park. I used some more Twinery ribbon along the top of this page:
Page 7 is a picture of my daughter Lauren (6) with her cousin Megan (3). They were so cute wandering around looking for apples they could reach. I used a SRM sticker "Happy" inside an Echo Park sticker and I think it fits the page well:
Page 8 is my daughter Lauren (6) picking an apple. Definitely a cutie pie:
All paper is by Echo Park paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great weekend.

Baseball Mini Album

Hello and happy Friday (aka, the-only-day-my-youngest-goes-to-school-with-a-smile-on-her-face :)
This morning I finished up an album I started yesterday. I had all of these ideas in my head---I wanted to create an album for my son using pictures from his old baseball team. He was asked to play select ball this time last year and he played with most of these kids for the past year (some were on his little league team the year before.)
Because of the travel and time commitment, we became pretty close to the team and the other families. It was so hard to leave them when we had to move. But I have a TON of pictures and I thought it would be nice to get some of them together for him.
The problem---I couldn't find the pictures. We had tucked them in a plastic bin right before we moved and after tearing the house apart----I just found the bin this morning!! Woohoo!

I received my very first Little Yellow Bicycle patterned paper this week. I am seriously impressed with the quality of this paper. It is beautiful, thick and the designs are exceptional. You will definitely be seeing more of it on this blog (now that I have come out from under the large rock I was living under!) This album was created with their Get Your Game On collection. They feature lots of sports but I got the baseball and football since that is what my son plays.

Anyway...here is the album cover: Pages 1-2:

Pages 3-4:

Pages 5-6:

Back cover:

This came together in no time because this collection has fabulous embellishments that coordinate with the papers.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Our Love Story

Well....I was "supposed" to be taking a break this week..traveling to PA to visit my family but because of the blizzard there--our flight was cancelled :(
The kids are disappointed to be missing our family Christmas party, the Pollyanna (gift exchange) and TIME with their cousins. But I would rather be safe than sorry! Still hoping we can get there for a few days.

In the meantime, I consoled myself with a little project. My two youngest wanted to craft this morning so I had time to finish this mini album I started while they cut 1,000 snowflakes!

I used the GORGEOUS new Be Mine collection from Echo Park and paired it with the coordinating stamps from Unity Stamp Co - I Adore You and With Love.

I still might add some journaling on this but this is the basic project. I love being able to have stamps that coordinate with my favorite paper brands....makes it so easy to create projects you love.
Hope you are having a wonderful week!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Gina K Preview Day 4

Welcome to Day FOUR of the Gina K Previews! Just a reminder that all the stamps, embellishments and paper that you have seen on the posts will be available in the store THURSDAY night (Feb 11) at 10 p.m. central time, immediately following the release party on Splitcoaststampers!

Today is the final preview day and the design team is showing these two sets--Lovely Labels (by Nina Brackett) and Inside & Out (the One free with Three set!)

I shared a little peek of Inside & Out on my Day 2 post. Today, I am sharing a project that uses Lovely Labels. This set includes many many large beautiful labels that work with your dies or alone. They can be used to frame a sentiment or an image or as a card focal point. For my project, I used them to frame pictures and sentiments for a mini album of my little DIVA:

^ Each page features a different label that comes in the set...but there are even MORE!!! This is the cover....I created a little mini album featuring my littlest, Lauren the princess! I used some Gina K ribbon to make a coordinating tie on the clasp.

^ I created pages using a die and pure luxury black onyx cardstock. Then, I stamped labels on white and innocent pink cardstock and used them to design the book.

^ Giggle! I love Lauren's face in this picture. I used Little Tees set for some of the fun sentiments, like the "diva" on the front cover crown and the sentiment on this page.

^ Here are the final pages. I am hoping to go back and create a few journaling page inserts but just wanted to complete a few pages so you get the idea of the frames.

The Lovely Labels stamp set coordinates beautifully with Spellbinders Labels 1, 4, 8, and 9. Nina has also designed a new digital paper pack called Swing into Spring that compliments the new Spring Assortment paper pack. For even more information on these new products, please visit the Lovely Labels Illustrator's blog Nina Brackett.
