Good morning!  Ok...sorry.  ONE more cross stitch card.😏  It has been so fun playing with this Paper Smooches die that I have had a hard time putting it down:)  I tried a tougher stamped image on this one---was fun to try to figure out where to put shadows so he didn't look like a blob. 

For this, I die cut the grid then stamped the elephant image from Huge Hugs. Then, I used embroidery floss to fill in the color.

Watercolored Flower

Hello! Hope you are having a wonderful day. I am so excited to be getting some warmer temperatures here FINALLY! Spring is here.

I did another card for the StampTV Flowers and Polkadots challenge--This one uses the new Through Thick and Thin incentive set (so it is free with a $75 purchase in March!):

I watercolored the flower on this card and the sentiment is from an older Gina K Set that I believe is retired:(

Just for You

Hello! Happy Monday:)  Just got home from a great family vacation in Keystone, CO.  We had a great time but boy was it cold.  My ski-loving son and husband didn't seem to mind, though!  It might take me a few days to thaw!

Hello!

Back with my Paper Smooches projects for the week.  I cannot believe these are my final ones--->this  month flew and I had an absolute blast working with Kim! Thanks so much, Kim!

The first card was created using Let's Celebrate stamp set.  I clear embossed the sentiment on white cardstock and then stamped the balloons over top.  I added the balloon strings from Party Balloons Dies and some confetti from Let's Celebrate stamp set:

Next, I used this precious cupcake from Sweet Dies for this card.  After piecing together the cupcake, I popped it up onto a panel covered in strips of washi tape. (This is a great way to use some of that huge stash!)
I die cut the sentiment Celebrate and added it to the bottom. Simple!

Splatter Balloons

Hello!  I have another fun birthday card to share today. For this card, I used Paper Smooches  Party Balloons Die  and Celebrate Word Die.

I die cut the balloons and word from puffy adhesive foam. Then, I sponged the foam word with some distress inks. I added some balloon die cuts (Party Balloons Die set) to the top of the balloon outlines.  I popped these over the splattered background:

I finished the card with a little puffy heart sticker!

I think I might make a set of these so I always have some birthday cards lying around.

Hey there, Cupcake!

Hello! I am back with my Paper Smooches projects for this week!

First up is a little generic greeting using:  Sweets Dies, Sentiment Sampler, Let's Celebrate Icon Dies, Metropolis.  The clouds were made using the top of the cupcake die and the hot air balloon was made using the balloon dies:

Birthday Greetings

Hi!  I am back with my Paper Smooches projects for this week:)

For my first card, I die cut the cupcake (Sweets Dies) from felt and used the top portion to make an ice cream cone.  The background is stamped lightly with polka dots from Let's Celebrate stamp set.  I die cut the Celebrate word and added it to the Flag banner:

Next, I used the cupcake die from Sweets Dies again for this card.  I added some colorful coordinating confetti and a sentiment from  Let's Celebrate set :

Pretty in Pink

Hi there!  Hope you are enjoying your weekend:)

Popping in to share another fun birthday card (that could also be used as a Valentine card!).

For this card, I die cut the Celebrate Word using adhesive foam for the sentiment and just popped it over the background that I created by clear embossing the script (Stampin' Up! from 10 million years ago) and then sponging Picked Raspberry distress ink over it.

One balloon was a chipboard sticker that I had sitting on my desk and I paired it with a balloon I stamped with Let's Celebrate stamp set in Memento Dandelion ink.  I die cut it it using the Celebrate Balloons die.

I trimmed a strip of the panel and added that along the bottom of the card just above the Sticker Stitches from S.R.M.

The Celebration Begins!

Yesterday my first Paper Smooches cards were up on their blog --Yay!

So, I figured I would share the cards on here as well.  This new release is so much fun.  For my first card, I used Let's Celebrate, Celebrate Balloons Dies, Celebrate Word Die and Flag Tags Dies:

Next, I used the Sweet Dies and Celebrate Balloons Dies for this card.  I used a balloon die to create the vase and the flowers were made using the lollipop die from the Sweet Dies set.  I used a sentiment from Sentiment Sampler to complete this card:

Sparkly Birthday

Happy Sunday :)

I used the Celebrate Balloons and Celebrate Word dies on this one:) (available here at 8 pm PT on Jan 31!!) For two balloons I used the die to create a negative space and added patterned paper scraps behind.  For the sparkly balloon...I die cut the balloon and popped it up to give it dimension.

Today, my card features a new Belated birthday a la carte set-- Oh carp!  I was immediately drawn to this set because I just love the sentiment "Oh Carp! I forgot your birthday...Hope it went swimmingly!" Too funny (esp to someone who says "Oh Crap" a little too often!)

Here is the front of my card.  The fish are on the inside of the card and I cut the window in the front so that you could see them.  I braided a piece of hemp to staple along the bottom of the card to give it a nautical feel.  I embossed the "Oh Carp!" on the front panel and then used the rest of the sentiment in the inside:

Inside: I stamped the sentiment and fish and I colored the fish with Copic markers.  I used that fantastic die that I used yesterday again---it is called Curly Border:

16 Years Mini Album

Hi there! Well, I thought I would share this mini album I made for my daughter for her birthday.  She turns 16 in two weeks and I just cannot believe how the time has flown.  Truth be told--I am also posting this because yesterday I had one of those FANTASTIC mommy moments.  Yep...I arrived at her end-of-the-year awards assembly at 9 am, camera in hand.  Sadly, the ceremony was at 8 and I got there just in time to see the throngs leaving the auditorium.  Sad:(

So, I am making myself feel less crappy by posting this gift I made for her. It was on the SRM blog yesterday.  I used Echo Park This & That Graceful collection on it and tons of SRM stickers:

I used Sweet Strawberries (by Theresa Momber) for my first card today:  

I just love Theresa's beautiful hand drawn strawberries so I had to use them for this card.  I stamped the main image with Memento ink and colored it with Copic Markers.  I traced around a Spellbinders circle die with a pencil and then cut it out with scissors but leaving the areas that had the stamped image.  I layered the circle on some patterned paper, added a ribbon and then I used a strip of patterned paper from Petals and Wings paper pack underneath.  I inked all edges with Tea dye distress ink and sewed around the edges of my card.  Finally, I stamped the birthday sentiment from the set and added some rhinestones.  

My second card features Vintage Notes (by Tami Mayberry)

 

I love Tami's clean graphic style.  This is a set I know I will use a lot!  For this card, I stamped the note on patterned paper and inked the edges.  I used two colors of brown ink to stamp the "Just a Note" sentiment over and over.  I used the number strip in the set to add some interest to the background.  I inked the numbers in Tea dye ink and then stamped off on some scrap paper before I stamped on the background. The result is just a hit of the numbers here and there.

Cardmaker BIRTHDAY Color Challenge Hop

Hello! Before I get to the original purpose of the blog hop....I wanted to take a minute to wish a HAPPY Birthday to Brooke!  She is the managing editor of Cardmaker Magazine and the one who keeps us all organized and on track on the Cardmaker blog!

Here is my take on the challenge:

I needed a birthday card for a special young lady who will be turning 16 soon.  You can read more about her story HERE.

I used my Imaginisce i-top tool to create the coordinating brad :)  So fun!  The bottom panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug numbers folder.  I hand stitched the frame that is holding the number sentiment.  I die cut the flower from some felt and put the brad through the center.

Card Designs

Hello! Today I have some cards to share that I made with the amazing Lori Whitlock silhouette files.  I love how easy it is to create fun cards with Lori's files! 

Here are two card designs for several different occasions:

This card uses Bird on Branch and Thank You files. I used some baker's twine (The Twinery) to add some embellishing around the bird and tiny pearls to accent the branch. 

Next,  I have a masculine birthday card that I created for my brother's 50th birthday.  It uses Shirt and Tie Card file and was super simple to put together.  The sentiment stickers are by SRM stickers--

Piggy Bank!

Hello and Happy New Year!! I had such a wonderful holiday week traveling to visit my family and friends. It was so much fun. We are expecting some snow today so that will be another fun adventure for my Texas-raised kiddos!

Today I have a cute idea for a birthday gift, especially for those times that you have no idea what to get the birthday child.

Just fill up a SRM mini tube with quarters (it holds a lot, had to borrow the ones from the kid's piggy banks to fill er up!) Then, transform the tube into a piggy bank by adding a pig topper. I used a file I found in the Silhouette library (Silhouette.)

I added a little Twinery baker's twine on his tail and some black pearls for his eyes. I added the SRM sticker sentiment from Sticker Sentiments-Birthday on the pig and the Big number 1 from We've Got Your Number- XL white directly on the tube.

Finished. Easy!

Masculine Birthday

Hello! Hope you are having a good week so far. Mine has been B.U.S.Y!

I love this Our Craft Lounge set-- Golfin' Gramps! He is so cute (reminds me of my dad a bit!) and I have quite a few golfers in my family (yep, including my dad!) so I couldn't pass this set up. It was one of the first OCL stamp sets I purchased and I still LOVE it!
Hee! The sentiment reads "Any way you slice it, have a wonderful birthday!"

Back from Vacation and a.....CARD!

Hello! I just got back from a two week vacation at the beach. We had so much fun--For the second week, all my siblings rented houses in the same few blocks and we went to the beach and boardwalk together every day. We all were together with my parents on my dad's 70th birthday. Now we are back home and trying to unpack (again!) and get back to our new life here.

I created this card for my dad's 70th birthday from all of his children. We gave him a gift certificate for custom golf clubs so I created a golf club card: I created the golf bag and clubs by looking at pictures and just designing my own. I added some stitching to make the bag look more realistic. The "70" was cut from Cuttlebug letters. I stamped the background of the card using a sentiment from Our Craft Lounge - Golfin Gramps. It says "Have a Par-fect day!" hee! (I created my dad's birthday card last year using this set too---a definite fav for my golf lovin dad!)
