Happy Hugs!

Hello! I am popping in to share this little greeting using ...full of happy hugs (Unity Stamp Co.).  I love this image and it was so fun to color using Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  The greeting is a die from Paper Smooches (Love word die).

Hangin' with the JiFFy girls...

I was so excited to be asked by my friend Carole to play along with the JiFFy girls this month. The JiFFy girls do challenges once a month --one person sends out stamped images and another person sends out some patterned paper and everyone has to work them into a card. This month, Carole chose the paper - Little Girl: Madison Plaid (by Echo Park) and Julie sent out the stamped image and sentiment- Unity Stamp Co: Sweetest Day (Jillibean Itty Bitty). Ekkk....I LOVE them both.

Here is what I came up with: Julie kindly sent out three stamped images of the strawberry and so I popped up the stem of one over another after coloring them. I cropped the sentiment super close (thanks to a mishap)and layered it on the other side of the patterned paper. I added a bit of pink highlight on the word "sweetest" to tie it into the pink in the background. I had some black circle epoxy stickers in my stash and they were a perfect fit for the seeds on the strawberry. This was so much fun.

PSA and an Anniversary Frame

Good Thursday morning! I have no idea where this week went....

I am sure I am not the only one.
I was a bit in a huff yesterday because I stupidly dropped my phone in the toilet. I feel stupid because....this is the SECOND time I did this. (I dropped my Blackberry in the hopper in the summer.) But this time---it was my not-even-a-month-old iPhone that my husband got me for Christmas.

Sigh! I really have to stop keeping it in my back pocket (or at least remember to take it out before using the restroom.)

The good news is that I grabbed it fast and today it SEEMS to be working again. Yesterday everything was working but the phone ... but then, throughout the day, that even got better. Then, it completely froze on a screen and wasn't working at all.

I kept it in a bag of uncooked rice near a radiator over night and so far....so good.
I cancelled my appt with Apple today to get a new one---so crossing my fingers that it remains functioning.

Today, I have another project using Echo Park Be Mine papers and Unity Stamp Co. coordinating stamps, - I Adore You and With Love. It is a little wall art frame:

I used the 10 stamp because we will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary this year...hard to believe.

Our Love Story

Well....I was "supposed" to be taking a break this week..traveling to PA to visit my family but because of the blizzard there--our flight was cancelled :(
The kids are disappointed to be missing our family Christmas party, the Pollyanna (gift exchange) and TIME with their cousins. But I would rather be safe than sorry! Still hoping we can get there for a few days.

In the meantime, I consoled myself with a little project. My two youngest wanted to craft this morning so I had time to finish this mini album I started while they cut 1,000 snowflakes!

I used the GORGEOUS new Be Mine collection from Echo Park and paired it with the coordinating stamps from Unity Stamp Co - I Adore You and With Love.

I still might add some journaling on this but this is the basic project. I love being able to have stamps that coordinate with my favorite paper brands....makes it so easy to create projects you love.

Paper + Stamps= Happiness

Paper Piecing is one of my favorite techniques. I use it so often because it the the PERFECT way to use my favorite patterned paper along with my stamps!

Recycled Love

Hello everyone!!! Hope you are having a great day.

I am working on my final projects for my final Dirty Dozen gallery and took a break to play with this this new set from Unity called Love Grows.

I adore this heart-y tree---So much fun to play with! The sentiment is also part of this set and there are more really cool images!!! I know I will using this a lot!

And do you see that big ole ribbon??? That was recycled from a new teen store I went to with my daughter. When you check-out, they put your items in a fun bag and tie a ribbon around it. The cute part is that they let you select the ribbon and when my daughter found that out, she said "Go ahead, Mom! Pick what YOU want!" Ahh...she knows me too well!!! I finally found the perfect home for it right on this card!

Heart to Heart Spotlight #4 - Unity Stamp Company!

Wow...this is fun! Continuing on my quest to "honor" the fabulous companies who donated to the Alzheimer's blog candy----today I am featuring Unity Stamp Company!

The first time I saw the amazing images and the "oh so clever" handles that make you feel like you are stamping with a traditional wood block (but are NOT!), I was hooked on Unity. I love the style of the artists who draw for them-if you haven't checked them out yet---YOU SHOULD!

I met Angela (and crew!) at CHA this summer. She is such a beautiful person---(ok, drop dead gorgeous outside) but just as gorgeous inside. I was so excited to get my stamps inky and I can only hope I did them justice 'cause all I need is for the remaining companies to start contacting me and saying--"ahem, no......it's ok...you REEALLLYYY don't have to honor us on your blog....in fact, we would rather that you didn't!" Ekkk!

For the first card (yep....couldn't stop at one!) I used the Growing in Unity set. I originally bought this set because of the stunning tree image in it. Once I got the set, I loved every image in it so (in my free time?) I am working hard to get them all inky!

I wanted to use this bold blue and black because it is one of my favorite color combinations. To soften up the background, I embossed the flowers on vellum and adhered them to the blue. This keeps the focus on the main image panel. I stamped the butterfly and then carefully cut out the inside of the image and adhered it over the top panel with glue dots.


Here is a close up of the card:

I colored the flowers with Copic markers. (The sentiment is from Frames & Messages set by hero arts--I just thought it went well with this card!)
I finished off the card with a scalloped border and a little ribbon tie.

This picture shows the dimension of that butterfly---my favorite part!!!

Materials used: Stamps-Growing with Unity (Unity Stamp Company), Frames & Messages (Hero Arts); Copic markers; cardstock- white, black, turquoise (Stampin' Up!); vellum (SU!); oval punch, label punch, small oval punch (SU!); black brads (The Paper Studio); eyelet (SU!); ribbon (May Arts); white embossing powder (SU!); Versamark; Heat tool; Threading Water punch (Fiskars); dimensionals (SU!).

This card uses the Hey Chick! stamp set from Unity. It is a simple card that I created with just scraps sitting on my desk (or all around my desk!) I love this bird (and there is another EQUALLY adorable one in the set but I used this one because I wanted him pointed in this direction.)

Here is a close up of the bird:

I pieced the bird with light blue cardstock (similar to the paper on the side). I added some rhinestone stickers to some of the circle areas on the bird and to the sentiment.



Materials used: Stamps-Hey chick! (Unity Stamp Co.); a muse 4 bar notes-madeira blue; cardstock-carribean, white, black (Stampin' Up!); Fiskars Threading water punch; EK Success flourish punch;Momento tuxedo black ink; twinkle rhinestone stickers (a muse).
