It's Impression Obsession Week at Stamper's Dream

Hi all ya'll!!! This week is Impression Obsession Week at Stamper's Dream and so the team is showcasing their wonderful stamps ALL week long. Today, Tosh , Silke , Amy , Michelle and I have cards to share. (But be sure to check out the schedule below so you can catch up on any posts you might have missed on Monday and Tuesday---'cause they are FANTABULOUS!)

I love Impression Obsession! They offer such variety in their stamp images--from elegant to whimsical!

My card features the Spoiled Rotten set (which includes the pup, sentiment and lots of paw prints and bones.) I *heart* this guy---he looks like he has gotten himself into some trouble but how could you be mad at that face??:
I had a hard time photographing these colors for some reason. What you might not be able to see is that I stamped the dog twice so that I could pop up the head and bone for some dimension. You can see that a bit better on this photo:
I colored the dog with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils. His scarf is paper pieced to match the background colors. It was a bit tricky working with the small pieces but I love the look!
This fits the Moxie Fab Picking up the Pieces challenge this month.
I stamped the prints all around and on the sentiment circle. This set is so fun to play with!
Materials used: Stamps- Spoiled Rotten (Impression Obsession); white cardstock (Gina K Designs); Copic markers; Prismacolor Pencils; Ink: Memento tuxedo black, going grey (SU!); designer paper- Park Buddies (SEI); ribbon-white twill; button; sewing machine; corner rounder punch (Creative Memories); hemp (Hobby Lobby).

Here is the week's schedule:
Today - Leslie , Laurie and Becca
Tuesday - Cindy , Amy , Denise , Dawn and Michelle
Wednesday - Tosh , Silke , Amy , Michelle and me
Friday - Laurie , Silke , Tosh , and Michelle
You *may* notice a new name on the design team names above. The wonderful Leslie Miller just joined the Stamper's Dream team! Welcome Leslie!!

My 2 Cute Girls

Hello!! Happy Monday! Hope your weekend was wonderful! I am so happy to report that my son's baseball team won their game on Saturday (after being totally walloped on Tuesday.) He is on a pretty young team--most of the kids never even played ball so it will be a different experience than with his fall ball team, where they won the championship.
It was nice to see them win...at least once. Now they have a bit of confidence to face the rest of the games.

Now on to craftiness--I created this page of "My 2 Cute Girls" this weekend. I *LOVE* this picture of both of them so it was so fun to make a page using it. I used mostly Cosmo Cricket (Joy Ride, Garden Variety, Nutmeg alpha stickers) on this: And here is some close up views of the details:

Materials used: white 12 by 12 cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Metal dots silver (JoAnns); ribbon-snorkel (Cosmo Cricket); 3 flower punch (Stampin' Up!); Garden Variety and Joy ride cardstock stickers (Cosmo Cricket); Joy ride, ready set chip adhesive chipboard (Cosmo Cricket); Designer paper from Garden Variety and Joy Ride (Cosmo Cricket); chipboard alphas Nutmeg (Cosmo Cricket); brown embroidery floss (Cosmo Cricket).
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Cosmo Cricket Apron Card

Hello! Hope you had a great week. Ours was super busy and the weather was BEAUTIFUL! This is definitely my favorite time of year in the South.

I just got the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety kit and couldn't wait to use some of it. The images, stickers and tags are so cute.

So, I created an apron card (fitting, ugh?)

Instead of creating a pocket in the front for a pull out, I designed this so that you just slide the ribbon up and the bottom section folds out to reveal what is inside.

This would be a great design for a recipe card or a cute/romantic card too but I went with "adorable" and used a picture of my youngest from years ago. I always think of her when I hear the word "pea" because she just LOVED them then. (Not so much now though.)

Ain't she cute??

Materials used: Designer paper/stickers-Garden Variety Complete Crafting Kit (Cosmo Cricket); ribbon- Stampin' Up!; buttons (Papertrey Ink); sewing machine.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. We will be spending some time at the ball field as baseball season is officially underway. I love it (especially with this weather!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

JustRite Mega March Blog Hop

I am so honored to be part of this HUGE event! In addition to amazing project ideas, you will have a wonderful opportunity to WIN BIG (keep reading below!)

But first, here is the project I designed for the hop using the fabulous JustRite Seeds of Kindness 1 5/8 Round Centers & Borders set:

I found an unfinished wood wheelbarrow at Hobby Lobby and thought this would be perfect to use for a little gift. I just painted it, made some paper flowers and added the wonderful JustRite sentiment and border.
You can see in this picture how the flowers are actually "planted" in the wheelbarrow. I added some Styrofoam into the bottom of the barrow and then covered it with designer paper (for the grass). Then I was able to stick the wire right through the paper into the foam.

Materials used: Stamps- Seeds of Kindness Round Centers & Borders (JustRite Stampers); Memento tuxedo black ink; Olive ink (SU!); Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle dies; designer paper by Cosmo Cricket and Jillibean Soup; wire; styrafoam; acryllic paint; cardstock-white, sweet corn (Gina K Designs); brads; jute twine (Gina K Designs); adhesive pearls (K&Company); Styrofoam; wheelbarrow (Hobby Lobby)
Wouldn't this be a cute way to present a gift card?

Now the Hop Details: 25 designers, FIVE shopping sprees each day. No one knows where the prizes will be! Each day of the hop JustRite will have five Mystery Blog Candy Prizes hidden along the hop with a total retail value of $600. JustRite will randomly select five mystery blogs each day of the hop and randomly allocate each of the shopping sprees. For your chance to win, simply leave a little love (a comment) on each designer’s blog including the JustRite blog. The more designers you leave comments with, the better your chances of winning. Each day’s comments will remain open for three days. A winner from each of the mystery blogs’ comments will be randomly chosen using Random.org. Consult the listing of designers at the JustRite blog each day (each day’s designers will be different) and start out on your way! Beginning Friday, March 26, summaries of all the winners will be posted on the JustRite blog. Good luck to everyone and enjoy all the JustRite eye candy along the hop!

Today during the JustRite Mega March Blog Hop (Day One) JustRite and its sponsors will be giving away the following five prizes:

· $200 JustRite Shopping Spree
· $100 Spellbinders Shopping Spree
· $100 Stampers Dream Shopping Spree, and
· Two additional $100 JustRite Shopping Sprees!

Blog comments for Day One will be open until Thursday at 6pm EST. On Friday, JustRite will announce on their blog which five blogs have the mystery candy for Day One. You will need to go to the JustRite blog to determine where you need to go to find out if you are one of the five lucky winners.

Have fun! Thanks for stopping by!

....Um...Perhaps I spoke too soon...

Just found this shoved under my bedroom door: A note from my son Ben (7), written in the throws of a massive temper tantrum that says , "Mom your the wersed mom in the universe."

Ouch! That is even "wersed" than being the worst mom in the world. Nothing like ending break on a *good note.

Well....two happy kiddos out of three ain't bad! (smile!)

Home is Where the Heart Is!

Hello crafty friends! Tomorrow.....it is back to school for the kiddos. We had an awesome week for Spring Break. My hubby was away all week so I was trying to entertain three kids (who are not close in age!) Whew! They kept me running...and mommy is TIRED!
My husband comes home tonight and I know he missed being away all week.

So..I thought it was only fitting that I would share this card I created using Taylored Expressions Love Everywhere set and October Afternoon designer paper:I picked up this set at CHA and haven't had much time to play with it...so I was glad to have the time to ink er up!
I colored the chipboard heart with a black Copic marker. The house is stamped and then adhered to some cork paper.

Hope your Monday ROCKS!

Friday Scrappin!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great week. The kids were off for Spring Break and the weather was (mostly) FABULOUS! Kind of sad to get back to reality next week.

In other news, I found out yesterday that I didn't make the cut for the Jillibean design team :( Although I was a little disappointed...I am happy for the awesome designers that did make the cut (and all the ones who tried!) You can see the list here.

I am just getting back into scrap booking and I am loving getting some precious memories preserved in an album.

Here is a page I created of my daughter and my niece have a "splashing" good time in the tub:
Here is a detail shot of the title:

And here is a detail shot of the duck (Joleenes) that I altered the wing so it would matchy-matchy with the page:
Hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend!

Gina K Preview Day 4

Hello!! Tonight the Gina K Design team is on it's last night of previews. The sets being peeked tonight are called Nana's Needlework & Sentiments and Spring has Sprung and they are fantastic!

My first card uses this gorgeous doily-lacy design in Nana's Needlework. I am head over heels in love with this stamp. I paired it with a sentiment from Lovely Labels....because I thought it worked for this card.

To create the focal design, I embossed the image three times--once on chocolate kiss card base, once on some sweet corn cardstock and once on cranberry tart cardstock. I cut the portions of of the design I wanted to use to adhere over the chocolate base. TIP: Rather than emboss the yellow section again to use the little flower, I simply cut the flower out of the portion of the image that is underneath the red layer (since you won't see it anyway!) I popped the red circle up a bit for some dimension.

I added a pearl to the center of the design and then added some to the punched border. The sentiment is embossed as well. (I love the look of white embossing on brown cardstock!) Finally, I wrapped some jute twine around the front of the card to complete the design.

I thought this design would be perfect for the Moxie Fab: Diggin' on Doilies & Lace challenge. You can check out the challenge details HERE!

Next, here is the card I created with Spring Has Sprung:

I adore whimsical stamps...and this set is full of em. I created this card mostly with scraps in my scrap bin!!
Tip: To make the duck/umbrella appear that they are drifting in the water, I cut a slice in the design with my craft knife and just slid the edge underneath the fold. This makes it look like I went to the trouble of cutting layers in the paper...but I didn't!
I added some piercings around the crazy sun/sentiment...made to look like the wind or sun rays. They look neat in real life...but you almost cannot see them in the picture. (Sigh!) Oh well. The ribbon is included in the new Spring Mix stamp TV kit!

Wait till you see the other adorable images in this set..you will be smitten!

Tags for You: Gina K Preview Day 3

Hello! Are you enjoying all the Gina K Previews this week? I am back tonight with a peek at the new Stamp TV kit that will be released this Thursday!

Spring Mix Stamp TV kit includes:

Huge Spring Mix stamp set

Card Stock: 2 Vibrant Violet; 2 Lovely Lavender; 2 Creme de Menthe; 2 Lemon Drop; 3 Bubblegum Pink; 3 Little Boy Blue; 3 Chocolate Kiss; 2 Black Onyx ; 6 120lb White
25 sheets total

Hint of Spring Digital Pattern Paper:
2 Bubblegum and Creme de Menthe Pattern
2 Little Boy Blue and Lemon Drop Pattern
1 bag Spring mix brads
1 bag Spring mix eyelets

Ribbon: (1 yard each)

white twill
5/8"
Creme de Menthe Stitched
Chocolate Kiss Stitched
Black Onyx Stitched
Little Boy Blue Grosgrain
Vibrant Violet Grosgrain
Bubblegum Grosgrain
White Satin
White Organdy

This kit is HUGE....I was so conflicted on which image to preview that I ended up creating a bunch of tags so I could show you more. (And there are tons more images and sentiments I didn't get to!) I LOVE making tags. They are so fun to add to a wrapped present, a plain gift bag or to give as a gift!

Here is my Tag Project (**everything in BOLD type is included in the kit!):

After creating the tags, I made this little tag holder so that you could give this as a gift or just have a place to store them. I used the circle design stamp in the kit to create the border. "Just for you" is one of the adorable sentiments in the set. I used some chocolate stitched ribbon the create the band around the holder.

Here is what the folder looks like when you slide off the belly band:

I created a little pocket for all the tags to slide into.

Here are all the tags that are inside the pocket:

Since some of them might be a little hard to see in this group photo, I took a close up shot of the larger tags so you can see some of the detail:
Here is the baby tag:
This tag uses the cute baby image and sentiment in the kit, creme de menthe cardstock, white cardstock, Hint of Spring digital spring paper, white cardstock, white twill, bubblegum grosgrain ribbon.

The bird tag:
I used the bird image and sentiment, white cardstock, green eyelet on this tag.
Tag also uses Lovely Labels stamp and jute twine (Gina K Designs)

Just for you tag:
I created this tag with white cardstock, little boy blue cardstock, the mouse stamp, sentiment, lemon drop grosgrain ribbon.

Thank you tag:
To create this tag, I used one of the flower silhouette stamps, the circle stamp, the thank you sentiment, white cardstock, and black onyx stitched ribbon.
Other Gina K Supplies used: red cardstock, jute twine.

Gina K Preview Day 1

Hello! Welcome to the first night of Gina K Previews! Tonight the design team is previewing three new sets--A Beautiful Life, Sending Sunshine, and Fairy Tales.

Here is the card I created with Fairy Tales:
I love this fun set and my mind was just swirling with ideas for it but eventually I settled on this one. I wanted to use that fun sentiment and frog...and thought the flowers would make a great background.

Did you see the frog's mouth?? I cut a little pucker from cardstock and then added some red stickles to make it shine. HAD to! The flowers are paper pieced. Finally, I added some brads and some fun ribbon (that are both in the new stamp tv kit!).

Materials used: Stamps-Fairy Tales (Gina K Designs); cardstock-white, lemon drop, sweet corn, creme de menthe (Gina K Designs); button (Gina K Designs); ribbon (Gina K Designs); brads (Gina K Designs); ribbon (Gina K Designs); Designer paper-Chicken Noodle:Dried Egg Noodles (Jillibean Soup); Memento tuxedo black ink; SU markers-black, red; sewing machine; stickles-red (Ranger); Copic Markers.

Next up is a card I created with A Beautiful Life:

Do you get it? I substituted the bee image for the beginning of the word beautiful. Hee...couldn't resist that little bee (I KNOW you will see tons of the gorgeous flower frame in a lot of people's post so I wanted to focus on my favorite image in the set--the bee!)

Materials used: Stamps-A Beautiful Life (Gina K Designs); Memento tuxedo black ink; jute twine (Gina K Designs); cardstock-white, kraft, creme de menthe (Gina K Designs); Copic marker; Designer paper-White Bean: Chicken Broth (Jillibean Soup); corner rounder punch (Creative Memories).
