Gina K Preview Day 4

Hello!!! Tonight is the final night of Gina K previews before the big release tomorrow (Thursday) night!
I worked with Blessed is the Season for tonight's project. I thought the images and sentiments would be PERFECT to create a holiday greeting card. Because my oldest child has relatives who live far---I thought this would be a great idea for the holidays to send them a greeting from her:
I used some red hot cardstock and added a black and white photo. I embossed* the sentiment along the side of the photo (do this first before adding the photo!) and then stitched along the edges of the picture.
I punched the snowflakes and added a fun smaller snowflake I created by embossing the emblem design in the set in white on red cardstock. Then, I punched through to get a very cool design on my snowflake. I added a red button and some silver cording.

(*You can find all the products you need to heat emboss images HERE.)

Next, I created a decorative vellum envelope that would be a cute topper for a gift. I embossed the dove image and cut around it before punching a hole and attaching it to the ribbon. I stitched the sides of the vellum so the card slides in and out easily with a shift of the ribbon:

We'd also like to invite you to attend our Release Party tomorrow night (Thursday) starting at 7 pm central on StampTV. There will be challenges, contests, and more samples from our designers on all the new stamp sets being released this month. See you then for all the fun!

Gina K Preview Day 3 and off to Eclipse

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the Gina K Previews! If you missed last night...you might want to check out the awesome creations the dt shared on the hop.

I cannot wait to see what everyone created with tonight's sets. Lots of great images. But...I am gonna have to wait to peek because my sweet daughter somehow convinced me that we need to be among the first throngs of people to see Eclipse tonight. I will let you know how it is for any of you who follow the Twillight stuff.

I created this card using Hugs & Prayers set (illustrated by Nina Brackett). I chose to go with a black and white theme to highlight some of the gorgeous filled in images in the set.

I used the solid bird and flowers to create a faux embossed look. (I achieved this look by stamping the images on white cardstock in black ink and then I carefully cut around the images leaving a white border. When you add these to onyx black cardstock, it gives the illusion that they are embossed...but they are not!) Cool eh? I added a strip of vellum along the side of the image and embossed the white panel in the background before adding the focal image to the card base.

Aloha! Gina K Previews begin...

Aloha! Pehea 'oe? *
Welcome to the first night of Gina K previews. Tonight the design team is sharing their samples with three of the new sets that will be released on Thursday!

I used Aloha (illustrated by Theresa Momber) for my card tonight: I love the beach---therefore it was not hard to sell me on this fabulous set. I love all the Hawaiian images and sentiments!!!
I colored the images with Copic markers and added some October Afternoon designer paper.

Happy Birthday Michelle!

Hello!!! Today, some friends of Michelle (Stamper's Dream) are celebrating her birthday by throwing her a card party. We have all created birthday cards for her featuring the new Justrite stamps. If you've come from Laurie's blog, you're in the right place. If you didn't start at the beginning, you can do so by going to Kellie's blog.

I used a sentiment from All Occasions Nested Sentiments and Verse set and framed it using the Spellbinders Ice Cream Cone Shapeabilities and Fly a Kite dp by October Afternoon.

The ice cream cone was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder that was inked with Frayed Burlap distress ink (Ranger). I added some sheer May Arts ribbon along the edge.
Now head on over to Denise's blog for some more birthday fun and don't forget to stop by Michelle's blog to wish her a Happy Birthday!!

"Happy Birthday Michelle! Have a WONDERFUL DAY....Love ya lots, Cammie"

Sneaking in a card...

Hello! Sorry it has been so long....summer is BUSY.
Here is what we did yesterday---
Went for an early morning run.
Got kids fed...took my youngest to gymnastics class.
Then, took her to swimming lessons until noon.
Came home and grabbed lunch and then took my oldest to tennis lessons from 1-3.
Then, picked her up and she got showered and changed for her piano lessons at 4:30.
Then, picked her up at 5:00 and made and ate dinner.
Then, my son had baseball from 6:30 till 8:30 and then the team went to grab a bite to eat so I didn't get home until after 10.
Whew!
Life is crazy with three buggers all different ages...but it is fun.

Unfortunately my crafting time is pretty limited these days and looks even worse on my blog. A lot of things I have been working I cannot share at this time. But, I did manage to sneak in a bit of crafty time and (finally) ink up this new set that was designed by a sweet, amazing friend, Kimberly Crawford. This card uses her set Very Square Sentiments from her Mint Motif line:

I coupled this sentiment (one of my favs from the set because I make so many birthday cards!) with some October Afternoon designer paper (Fly a Kite)and some PaperTrey Ink felt and ribbon and buttons. I used a jumbo scallop die from My Favorite Things to create the edge.

The little crocheted flower is made by a very talented lady, AesaLina. You can find her crochet flowers and fun covered buttons at her etsy store, PixiePetals.

I will have more to share.....soon!

Golfin Gramps

Hello!!! Hope you had a good week!
It ended up being pretty busy around here---ahhh Summer! I did manage to get some cards made but then never had the time to photograph them.
We found out yesterday that my son has an abscessed tooth and needs it pulled. This morning he fell on a plastic chair that was turned upside down. The leg of it just nailed him....and for anyone who knows me....I do NOT do well with the sight of blood. I managed to get it cleaned and covered though and don't think he needs stitches (whew!) Never a dull moment with that one :)

Instead of heading to the pool---we are gonna go to the new Toy Story movie today so he doesn't have to think about getting his neck wet. (His idea!)
Last night I pulled out this Our Craft Lounge set - Golfin Gramps -that I ADORE! The golfer guy reminds me of my dad (even though my dad isn't as stout--he definitely resembles him in the hair area! giggle!)
I love all the fun golf items in this set and because there are TONS of golfers in my family....it is a MUST HAVE. Here is what I created for my dad's birthday (which isn't till August so I am doing well!!) I paired the adorable images and sentiment in this set with some Studio Calico paper and fabric strips! I used my beloved MFT dies--cloud trio and fresh cut grass to create the background for the scene. To add a bit more texture, I sewed a few lines on the top of the card.

Materials used: Stamps-Golfin Gramps (Our Craft Lounge); cardstock- white (Gina K Designs), tan (Bazzill Basics); Designe paper- Anthology collection (Studio Calico); fabric strips-Anthology collection (Studio Calico); ribbon-Chartruese (PTI); stapler; button; Copic Markers; Memento tuxedo black ink; Dienamics dies-cloud trio, fresh cut grass (My Favorite Things); Cuttlebug (Provocraft); sewing machine.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Here is my summery card inspired by one of my favorite places---the beach.

I used the Beach Bum set with these cardstock colors--Wild Dandelion, Sweet Mango, Turquoise Sea, Kraft and White. The ribbon is from the newest Stamp TV kit--Enjoy the Sunshine.

Stamper's Dream JustRite Blog Hop

The newest JustRite stamps have arrived to Stamper's Dream store. To celebrate, the team organized a blog hop today to share some projects we created with the newest release.

For my project, I created a memory album using several of the new JustRite sets. It was our 9th anniversary last week and so I thought this would be a fun project to create. I intend to go back and add some pages of memories and writings to this in the future.

For the cover, I painted the chipboard album black and then added some October Afternoon designer paper. I used the sentiment from Cherish the Memories Nested Centers & Verse set . I love this sentiment for memory books and it even works great for a wedding card or baby card.
Here is a picture of the book slightly opened....

Here is a detail shot of the front page title. I layered the sentiment on a black mat and then popped it up over the delicate frame from the Baroque Nested Frames 3 Border & Center set. I added some flowers to the corners and some tiny silver dots. Then, I added another section of another frame below this for some added detail.

Here is the first pages of the book. I love how large this sentiment is...perfect for scrapbooking too! The A Perfect Day sentiment is also from Cherish the Memories Nested Centers & Verse set. The I Love You sentiment is from the All Occasion Nested Centers & Verse set. I chose to stamp it and cut it out for this page.

I used the JR Clear Horizontal stamper set (which comes with TWO clear blocks so you can see exactly where you stamp---a must have!) and the JR Brayton font to create the years sentiment. I stamped another frame as the background for this page.
Finally, I used the Happy Anniversary sentiment from the Baroque Nested Frames 3 Border & Center set for the last page.
I have so many other ideas for other memory albums I want to create. They are so much fun and don't take much time to complete.
Materials used: Stamps- Baroque Nested Frames 3 Border & Center, Cherish the Memories Nested Centers & verse, All Occasion Nested Centers & Verse (JustRite); cardstock-ivory, red hot (Gina K Designs); Clear horzontal stamper set (JustRite); Memento tuxedo black ink; markers-black, red (SU!); black acryllic paint; Chipboard album (Mary Engelbreit, Micheal's); Designer paper- Thrift Shop 8 by 8 pad (October Afternoon); silver adhesive dots (Michael's); felt embellishments (Prima); flower (Prima); slit punch (SU!); Tea dye distress ink (Ranger); sponge; cuttlebug number die (Provocraft); ribbon (May Arts).

Here are the links to the rest of the Stamper's Dream team who are posting today:
Cammie (You are here)
Enjoy--I know there is gonna be a LOT of eye candy! I cannot wait to see what these talented ladies have created as well!

Blog Candy Winner and Florida pictures

Hello!!!! It is nice to be back.
After my oldest graduated....we took a road trip to Florida (Disney World) and took some time on the way home to visit Fort Walton Beach to see the white sand beaches (maybe one last time before the oil hits :( )
Here are a few pictures from the trip (I do not have many downloaded yet as I am still feverishly unpacking and getting settled again!)

My husband and kids waiting for the Princess show to begin at the castle (it was about 1,000 degrees that day!): Here is Lauren on her birthday--at her Royal Princess Dinner. She crashed in the stroller right after the dinner...from pure exhaustion!

My WONDERFUL friend, Kim (aka. the MFT Lady) lives fairly close to Disney and her family joined us for a day at Magic Kingdom and dinner.....and then we stopped by on the way out of town for an AMAZING brunch she and her husband made for us! I had to get a picture of us in the infamous MFT office:
Fabulous. Fun. Fatigued.
That about sums it up!
I am working on a few projects for this week....but until then....how about I announce the blog candy winner???
Since my husband and I just celebrated our 9th anniversary...Random.Cara picked #9 as the winner. Congratulations to ..... CountessLaurie who said...

Laurie, please email me your mailing address so I can send your big box right out to you! Thank you very much to all my wonderful subscribers.
