MFT Cards

Hello! I decided to jump in and play along with the MFT Superstar Card Contest and that meant I had to figure out where everything in my office was hiding.  It has been awhile since I have taken the time to stamp :) After figuring out that stuff...my computer wasn't working so I had to use my laptop and my camera wasn't charged. ugh!

Anyway, after dusting off the cobwebs....Here are the two cards I made today:
(These photos are from my iPhone since my camera wasn't charged:()

My first card is a tag card and I used several MFT sets on it, including So Much Love, Modern Blooms Stamps and Dies, Tag Builder BP#5, Mini Wavy Pennants.

And my second card features some MFT sets and dies that are not Halloween sets but I altered them to make them fit.  The Pure Innocence girl is carrying a bouquet in the original (PI Heart Bouquet) and I used a little fella from Out of the World set to put in her arms.  (I had to cut out his eyes off and put them on top of his body so they wouldn't cover her face!). The sentiment is a piece of a sentiment from True Friends stamp set:

Not sure if you can see the faint stars stamped in the background.  They are from Out of the World set.

It was so much fun to get all inky again! Thanks for stopping by!

Boo!

Hi there!  Just popping in to share a quick Halloween treat-- Using SRM Mini tube and SRM Stickers:
I dressed up the tube by die cutting some black vinyl (Haunted House by Lori Whitlock in Silhouette store).  I added the 10/31 sticker (SRM- We've Got Your Border- Halloween).  The tag was created by punching a circle of patterned paper (My Mind's Eye) and then adding the Boo SRM Sticker (We've Got Your Sticker- Treats). I added a button over the one O.  I added a scalloped green punched circle under the two circles and finished the tag off with the glittery bat (K & Company).
I tied the tag to the tube using some Charcoal baker's twine (The Twinery!)

Easy treat idea!!

PS: If anyone knows the winner from my recent blog giveaway, can you let her know she has one more day to claim the prize!  There is no email associated with her comment :(  Might be picking a new winner....

Witchy Tag

I love making Halloween projects. So much.  So imagine my surprise when I went to grab some Halloween patterned paper and realizing that I didn't even buy any this year. What?

I have been so busy with spring/summer projects and other assignments that I feel like I am playing Halloween catch up now!  Luckily, there is a Michael's close by and I was able to pick up a fun 6 by 6 pad of My Mind's Eye Haunted paper. Whew!

Here is a tag I came up with using that paper, stamps from Gina K Designs (Wicked), and SRM stickers (We've Got Your Sticker- Treats and We've Got Your Border-Halloween), and Charcoal baker's twine from The Twinery:
To create this tag, I layered the papers on the chipboard tag and inked the edges with Ranger- Tea Dye distress ink.  I specifically cut the bordered piece of paper so that it would be centered on the tag.  I added the Halloween sticker sentiment (SRM Stickers) inside the elegant label design.  I stamped the witch from Wicked in Memento tuxedo black ink on white card stock and then fussy cut it before adding it to the tag.  I stamped the stars from the set using Memento Dandelion ink.

Where the layers of patterned paper meet, I added a border sticker (Bella Blvd) to the bottom and they layered SRM sticker borders along the top .  Some left over ribbon was secured to the top of the tag with Scor-tape and then I tied some Charcoal baker's twine from The Twinery to the ribbon.  Love all the fun Halloween-ey colors!

So I started off the post mentioning that I was surprised I didn't have any current Halloween patterned paper---but I did  realize that I have tons of product I cannot use for pubs anymore so....they will be given away on here once I get a few boxes together.  Sound good?

Also.... I just looked at my side bar----I cannot believe that my 5 year anniversary of this blog is coming up in November.  There will be partying going on....fo shizzle! Stay tuned.

Fall cards

Hi everyone! Wow...still reeling here---->we had our first snow yesterday. Yes...snow. The kids were excited and we learned exactly what winter clothes we still need :)

Today I have two simple cards to share that I made a little bit ago. These were two of the first cards I made with my Silhouette.

The first is a fall card using some Echo Park paper and the beautiful leaf design by Lori Whitlock. You can find it here: Flourish Maple Leaf. I used some Echo Park alphabet stickers to add the sentiment and a bit of Twinery ribbon and a button to finish it off: The second is a cute little Halloween card (whew...just getting this one in before it is over!) The background paper is from Echo Park Apothecary Emporium. Sentiment is by SRM stickers--We've Got Your Sticker- Treats! The spider is another Silhouette file.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a warm/GREAT day!

Sorry!

I couldn't help but use this A Little Witchy set from Our Craft Lounge again. It doesn't HAVE to be just for Halloween! (hee!) Anytime you need a little note of apology, this set would be perfect!

Patterned paper is by Echo Park!

Spooky Treat

Hello! I am almost finished with Halloween projects but I couldn't resist another one---just trying to use up my Echo Park Apothecary Emporium scraps so I used them to create this little treat holder.
I also used a Silhouette file (haunted house by Lori Whitlock) to adorn the front. Here is a view of the front. I glittered up the bat with some fine black glitter and used some stickers from the same collection.

Fun! Having a blast with the Silhouette :)

Have a great weekend!

Another scaredy cat!

Hello! Happy Saturday!
Today I have a card using Our Craft Lounge Scaredy Cat stamp set. I used this set in a different way this time. The main image features a Cat perched on the pumpkin. Instead of using the cat part, I cut off the top like you would carve a pumpin and lined it up with the swirls on the patterned paper:I love getting more use from my stamps by altering them a bit. The patterned paper is by Echo Park- Apothecary Emporium Collection.

Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Witch Hat (times 2!)

All finished! Lauren finished up her witch's hat this morning so we took pictures of them and here they are:
Here is my hat: I painted the hat with black paint and then covered the rim with patterned paper from Echo Park Paper- the Apothecary Emporium. I added some folded paper around the rim and then attached a strip of patterned paper around the cone part and used a label, with a fan behind it. I added some bling on the label, some ribbon and glitter. I layered another label behind it for a shadow effect.

Here is Lauren's Hat (It is pretty tall with all the fun stuff she shoved in the top of it. lol!)

I think she did a great job. Her hat is sitting in the middle of our kitchen island. I love that she picked this project. So fun!

Jack o lantern!

Hello! Hope you are having a GREAT weekend. My sister is in town so we are! So fun to have family in and we love entertaining.

Today I am sharing an altered Halloween project. I found a wooden pumpkin at Michael's last week and was inspired to create a paper jack0lantern. I thought it would look so fun all dressed up with the Echo Park the Apothecary Emporium collection: I used some Modge Podge to cover the front of the pumpkin and then added the patterned paper on top. I covered the stem with a different piece of patterned paper. All of the designs are pretty much cut from pieces of the collection. I cut the tree shape from one of the pages. I used part of the tree (I skipped some sections where it was too tedious to cut) and then used a black Tombow marker to color over the cut out piece. The cat, bird and bat are also cut out of the papers. After I attached them to the pumpkin, I added some black Doodlebug glitter to make them sparkly. I also added rhinestone eyes to the bat and the bird.

I created the banner with the date using the stickers in the collection. I added some rhinestones in between the banners and hung it on the pumpkin using dimensional stickers.

I tied a piece of gingham ribbon around the top of the pumpkin and added some hemp. I finished the top of the pumpkin off by adding a fringed topper.

I already have this on display for Halloween so it is gonna be a long two months for my family :)

Have a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by!

For my card today, I used the new crafty cling set, Scaredy Cat:

I stamped the image three times and colored it with Copic markers. I layered the hat and pumpkin part twice to get more dimension on the card. I added some Wicked Green sparkle fluff to the cat's collar and the buckle on his hat. It really sparkles irl!

Spook-tacular treat tags

Hello! Today I have a Halloween project to share. Hard to believe that stores are already stocking their Halloween decor and costumes. I figured I would get a jump on a few projects.

I created these treat tags using Our Craft Lounge Spook-tacular set:

And here are close ups of the tags so you can see them a bit better. They all are attached to m&m sleeves. I used a piece of hemp and a button to tie the tags to the bags.

For this tag, I used the witch image...so cute! I stamped her on white cardstock and paper pieced the broom and added stickles to the hat and star punch out. I also used the happy Halloween sentiment right under the image.

Next, I used the spider web and spider on this tag. I stamped the web and spider right on the patterned paper. Then, I stamped the spider again and cut out the body to layer over the first one. This added some dimension. I also used black stickles on the spiders legs. I stamped the sentiment and punched it out with an oval punch. I added two little rhinestones on either side before adhering it to the tag:

The last tag features the kitty image. I stamped the image on the tag and stamped it again so I could attach the second one over the first. This allowed me to have some movement in the tail by not adhering the second tail over the first one. I added some purple stickles on the cat's hat, added rhinestones and the same button tie at the top as I did on the others:

Supplies: Stamps- Spook-tacular (Our Craft Lounge); Memento tuxedo black ink; stickles (black, purple) Ranger; rhinestones (Recollections, Mark Richards); Patterned paper/tags-Twilight (Pink Paislee), Waving Skeletons-Toil & Trouble (Making Memories); m&ms; candy sleeves.
