Tag Card

Happy Monday! Hope you had a fabulous weekend.  We did--spent most of it outdoors because we had a burst of warm weather! LOVE it!

I did get a little time in my stamp room too and here is one card I whipped up using SRM stickers- We've Got Your Sticker- Sweet and Fancy Sticker Sentiments- Love:

I love how easy it was to alter the tag I found at Target (Curiosity Shoppe) using the white SRM stickers.  I added the Pink Paislee chipboard heart and the tiny birds (Lori Whitlock) that I cut using my Silhouette.  I added one more SRM sticker on the bottom of the card to finish it off.

Patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye and Jillibean Soup.

Supplies- cardstock- Gina K Designs; patterned paper- 6 by 6 mini pad- Sweet & Sour (Jillibean Soup), 6 by 6 paper pad- Haunted (My Mind's Eye), Stickers- We've Got Your Sticker- Sweet, Fancy Sticker Sentiments- Love (SRM Stickers); Artisan Chipboard hearts (Pink Paislee), metal heart (Colorbok); tag- The Curiosity Shoppe (Target); birds- Bird on Branch (Lori Whitlock-Silhouette Studio).

Have a great day!

Witchy Tag

I love making Halloween projects. So much.  So imagine my surprise when I went to grab some Halloween patterned paper and realizing that I didn't even buy any this year. What?

I have been so busy with spring/summer projects and other assignments that I feel like I am playing Halloween catch up now!  Luckily, there is a Michael's close by and I was able to pick up a fun 6 by 6 pad of My Mind's Eye Haunted paper. Whew!

Here is a tag I came up with using that paper, stamps from Gina K Designs (Wicked), and SRM stickers (We've Got Your Sticker- Treats and We've Got Your Border-Halloween), and Charcoal baker's twine from The Twinery:
To create this tag, I layered the papers on the chipboard tag and inked the edges with Ranger- Tea Dye distress ink.  I specifically cut the bordered piece of paper so that it would be centered on the tag.  I added the Halloween sticker sentiment (SRM Stickers) inside the elegant label design.  I stamped the witch from Wicked in Memento tuxedo black ink on white card stock and then fussy cut it before adding it to the tag.  I stamped the stars from the set using Memento Dandelion ink.

Where the layers of patterned paper meet, I added a border sticker (Bella Blvd) to the bottom and they layered SRM sticker borders along the top .  Some left over ribbon was secured to the top of the tag with Scor-tape and then I tied some Charcoal baker's twine from The Twinery to the ribbon.  Love all the fun Halloween-ey colors!

So I started off the post mentioning that I was surprised I didn't have any current Halloween patterned paper---but I did  realize that I have tons of product I cannot use for pubs anymore so....they will be given away on here once I get a few boxes together.  Sound good?

Also.... I just looked at my side bar----I cannot believe that my 5 year anniversary of this blog is coming up in November.  There will be partying going on....fo shizzle! Stay tuned.

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop #2

On Wednesday, The Dream Team from Stamper's Dream is joining JustRite Stampers for their newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #2! Every Wednesday until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing the JustRite Christmas Collection of stamps! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card and project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

*******NOTE: Yep, I know it's Monday night--I have to post my card early because of a previous commitment. The rest of the team will be posting on Wednesday!********

For my card, I used Whimsical Christmas to make a holiday greeting card:

I inked the sentiment with two ink colors and then stamped. Instead of using it as a circular shape, I just cut it into a square after stamping.

Then, I stamped blue snowflakes over the sentiment to tie it into the design of the card:

I created a little flower from patterned paper and the Spellbinders blossom dies, die cutting several layers and then crumpling them up one by one. I used a bit of craft wire wound around a pencil for the leaves/stems.

Materials used: Stamps- Whimsical Christmas (JustRite Stampers); ruby red, olive markers (Stampin' Up!); soft sky ink (SU!); Designer paper- Chicken Noodle: Chicken Bouillon (Jillibean Soup); So Sophie: Simple Things, Nice Numbers (My Mind's Eye); Be Merry Frosty Flakes (My Mind's Eye); Cardstock stickers (borders) Jolly by Golly (Cosmo Cricket); green wire; adhesive gemstones (Mark Richards); Blossom Dies (Spellbinders); Cuttlebug; Brad (The Paper Studio); stapler.

Please visit these designers’ blogs ON WEDNESDAY to see what fabulous Christmas projects they have to share with you:

IS it a Fish??

It is Monday and time for another CCEE challenge. This week it is the "Catchy Name Featured Stamper" challenge (CNFS). This is one of our favorite challenges that we do each month ... basically one of our members picks someone who has a catchy user name on SCS and then we create a card around that name. This week, Cindy Motherway picked the CNFS and she picked 'Fishlips'! Cindy instructed us that when we created our card it had to have fish/fish lips on it, or fish of some sort (preferably the kind that swim!)

My dilemma---I received my new Gina K stamps that will be released this week (on Thursday!) and fell in love with this seahorse image (from the Best Fishes set). So, I created this card and my husband said, "I don't think seahorses are fish. You might want to look that up!"

Ekkk! I did not have time to make another card and I knew that no one else would use a seahorse for their fish image. So I did a bit of research and found that a seahorse IS a bony fish. They don't have scales but they have a thin layer of skin over plates that are arranged in a circular pattern throughout their body. They swim upright and during times of social interaction, they turn a bright color.

Score.

So, I am proud to present my FISH card (giggle!):
I love this seahorse. It was the first new Gina K stamp I have played with and I know I will use it lots. I painted the seahorse with reinkers and then applied a layer of Shimmerz (olive and December sky) over him. Then, to add even more sparkle, I added some crystal Stickles to some of the sections.

In this picture you can see more of the shimmer. This seahorse really sparkles!!!

Materials used: Stamps- Best Fishes (Gina K Designs); chocolate chip cardstock, Watercolor paper (SU!); Designer paper-My Mind's Eye; Memento black ink; bashful blue, old olive, certainly celery, brilliant blue reinkers (Stampin' Up!); Close to cocoa Classic Stamp pad (SU!); sponge; paper piercing tool and mat pack (SU!); Shimmerz-December sky, olive, blue; Stickles- crystal (Ranger); jumbo eyelet (SU!); Cropadile; hemp (Hobby Lobby); spellbinders dies; Cuttlebug (Provocraft); dimensional (SU).

You can check out all the other FISHY CCEE creations here. Hope you will play along!

Stay tuned: Gina K previews begin tomorrow! I cannot wait to share some more of the newest sets that will be released on Thursday!

Gina K Final Preview - Take Flight

This is the last day of previews for the new Gina K Designs release! All of the sets (and the great new storage system) will be released tonight-THURSDAY! Woohooo!

Today I am previewing the new FREE WITH THREE set called Take Flight! Wowza--I love this set and cannot believe you can get it free (with the purchase of three other sets)--what a sweet deal! The large butterfly on this card is one of two butterflies in the set:

I had purchased the jolee's boutique butterfly stickers awhile ago but have never known what to do with them. Well, I do now--I stamped the large Gina K butterfly in brilliance ink and sprinkled black embossing powder on it and heat set. Then I watercolored with SU! reinkers to match the shades of blue on the card. I added lots of piercing detail, the sentiment and stickers and was done.

I have been waiting for awhile to get some new butterfly images that I just love--I know I will be using these LOTS!

Materials used: Stamps-Take Flight (Gina K Designs); cardstock- Gina K Pure Luxury 80lb, 120 lb; blue bayau, gold (SU!); Designer paper- Out & About (My Mind's Eye); SU reinkers (blue bayau, soft sky); paint brush; paper piercing tool and mat pack; Spellbinders pierceabilities template; Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Circle and scallop circle nestabilities (Spellbinders); stickers-Jolee's Boutique; glue dots (SU!); gold brads (SU!); lace-thrift shop; oval punches (SU!); Dimensionals (SU!).

MFT Blog Hop and the Blogaversary Celebration Continues

I apologize. I am sick with a stomach bug today. The winner of the MFT set will be posted as soon as I am well enough to count through the entries. Luckily, I had this post written already....The winner of this blog candy and the one from yesterday will be posted as soon as I am feeling up to it.

Welcome to the My Favorite Things Blog hop! The MFT team is showing the newest set from the BC DZYNS line And Then I Said today. If you want to jump on at the beginning, head on over to Kim's blog. There is something fun waiting for you at the end!!

I wanted to use this fun and funky set in a different way. The sentiments in this set are geared towards teens and I thought a lot of people would be showing you the set in that form. So, I decided to put a little bit of a Victorian feel to mine:

The image was paper pieced with the My Mind's Eye paper and I used some lace and a button brad to convey a more mature theme.

I added a pearl necklace to her and cut out some of the leaves from the dp and added them around the image. I added some Olive Shimmerz (which MFT carries!) to the leaves. Boy, do they sparkle IRL!

I hope you like my MFTeaser of this set. And Then I Said will be available at My Favorite Things on Wednesday night. Now after you enter to win the Blogaversary candy below...hop on over to Cindy's blog for another MFTeaser of this set!

Materials used: Stamps-And Then I Said (BC DZYNS - My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink; cardstock-vanilla (SU!); Designer paper-29th Street Market, Playground Stripes (My Mind's Eye); Copic markers; Shimmerz Olive Green; Creative Memories Circle Cutting template; paper piercing tool and mat pack; flower; brad (Oriental Trading); Lace; corner rounder punch (Creative Memories); dimensionals (SU!).

Today, I have a Spellbinders Flower Creations die set to give away! (Click HERE for picture.) Just leave a comment on this post and Random.Cara will pick a winner on Thursday at around 5 p.m. CST!

Please note: Winner's must contact me within three days of winning or I will pick another winner from the same post!

Both the woman and the pup are from that set. The buildings in the background are from Going Places and the sentiment is from Bundles of Bouquets.

JustRite ATC Box and Card

Edited to Add: Oopsie! I completely forgot to add my card to this post so here it is! I used the same "With Love" JustRite stamp as I did yesterday but this time created a card using it!

It is Just Rite week at Stamper's Dream. All week the fabulous designers from the Dream Team are showcasing cards and projects. You can find the line up HERE....and you can also enter to WIN a JustRite Christmas Stamp Ensemble and the Classic Circle Stamper III just by answering a question on Michelle's blog! Today, Cindy and I are showing our JustRite Creations so be sure to check out her blog too!

For my project today, I created an ATC (Artist Trading Card) box. I have lots of ATCs lying around from different swaps I joined and I wanted a nice place to keep these little treasures created by my stamping friends. I used a wooden box that I found at Hobby Lobby and painted it an off white (Vanilla) color. NOTE: Be sure to remove hinges before painting!

After painting it, I added some designer paper from My Mind's Eye (Out & About collection) and some rubons. I added some dew drops to the flower centers and then on the top I added the monogram flower. For this project, I used the Monogram Self Inking Stamper in Deluxe Storage Box.

Here is a close up shot of the monogram on the top of the box.

When you open the box, there are different dividers that I created using some red cardstock and matching dp. I used the same border and lettering as I did on the front to tie it together. The separators divide the cards into sections according to theme "Birthday" "Baby" and "Love" so that the cards are easy to find.

Materials used: Stamps-Monogram Self-Inking Stamper in Deluxe Storage Box (JustRite Stampers); real red classic stamp pad (SU!); box (Hobby Lobby); Vanilla paint (Anna's); Chipboard circle (SU!); ribbon (SU!); flowers; Robin's Nest dew drops; cardstock-red, white(SU!); Designer paper-Out & About Collection (My Mind's Eye); Modge Podge; Rub-Ons (SU!); glue dots; dimensionals (SU!); scalloped circle punch (SU!).

Variations on this box are endless---you can use it for special cards you receive and want to keep forever, you can create a recipe box or even a birthday box with month dividers.
I hope you enjoyed this project. You can find lots of JustRite products at Stamper's Dream Store.

***NEXT WEEK--I am celebrating my ONE YEAR BLOGAVERSARY AND 200,000 HITS all at once....so you KNOW what that means--LOTS of giveaways. They will be happening OFTEN so be sure to keep checking back for your chance to win! Also, stay tuned for a Heart to Heart Blog Candy update--pictures of the hundreds of cards sent to the Artman home.

Thank You to Julie Crossley, who gave me the Kreativ Blogger award on her blog. Thanks Julie--your words really made my day! And thanks to Deb Wood, who gave me the "I Love Your Blog" Award. Thanks so much Deb!

Christmas Blessings-Pop up!

This is one of the sweetest Christmas stamps I have ever seen. I posted before with this Manger Kisses stamp a few weeks ago and the stamp was sold out. If you are one of those who emailed asking when Michelle would have them back in stock---today is your lucky day. She now has a few of these in stock at her store Stamper's Dream.

I paired this image with My Mind's Eye dp....I love the richness of the color and the music in the background.
I added a sentiment to this which was concealed in the previous picture. All you do is pull on the hemp....and out slides the Christmas Peace sentiment which reads: "May Peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through." Love that!

I colored the main image with Copic markers. All panels are sponged with caramel ink. I created the border on the bottom with the Threading Water punch and some May Arts ribbon that matched the dp perfectly. To add a heavenly glow, I added gold stickles to the angel's wings.

Materials used: Manger Kisses, Christmas Peace (Stampendous!); brilliance black ink; Ranger distress ink; caramel classic stamp pad (Stampin' Up!); sponge; gold stickles (Ranger); Copic Markers; cardstock-white, vanilla, choc chip (SU!); Designer paper- Frost Signature Christmas (My Mind's Eye); Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Decorative photo corner die (Spellbinders); Threading Water punch (Fiskars); dimensionals (SU!); hemp (Hobby Lobby); eyelet (Making Memories); Cropadile (We R Memory Keepers).

You can find all the stamps and stickles used on this card (and lots of other awesome stamp lines and embellishments) at Stamper's Dream store!
***Don't forget to add a comment to the post below for your chance to win PC Gourmet!***
